April Movies

12:20:00 AM

Heyyyy :D!

Any of you been wondering why i haven't done my monthly movies review yet? Well, aside from the obvious reason (laziness. And the fact that i've been really busy for the last few months), it's also because we only watched three (yes!!! 3!!!) movies in April, how insane was that? It used to be at least 5 or so? And most of them (well, two out of three) are super popular movies that i'm pretty sure everybody in the whole wide world (and their dogs) watched them already so what's the point? Alas, OCD and all that. Here's my two cents on them!
The three movies of April
I've pretty much always liked Fast & Furious' franchise and look forward to their next movies, but the atmosphere changed drastically when Paul Walker tragically passed-i couldn't wait to watch it and see how they manage to finish the movie and honor him. Since i like Paul so much and very much saddened by his passing, i don't think i can be very objective about this movie. I'd probably not like it as much if the circumstances' different, but because of it-i found this movie to be quite memorable and a must watch, especially for its loyal fans.

Picking up from the last movie, Owen Shaw's on life support so Dominic and his crew thought that their criminal mercenary life's over-but then comes Deckard Shaw. Owen's big brother who's 10x meaner than Owen is hungry for revenge and try all his might to kill them all. He even managed to badly injured Hobbs (and of course, killing Han). For Dominic and friends to be able to locate him first before he does, they had to help some shady government official to get a computer terrorism program called God's Eye that's already been targeted by a Somalian terrorist.

When i try to see it objectively, i'd say that Furious 7 has a lot of plot holes (of course) and it's actually quite ridiculous how Shaw kept on showing up wherever the go and kept on failing to do anything much when he's supposedly such a bad ass. But all of that's shaded by the humor, the fast pace, the tight knit cast that really feels like a real family and my sadness over Paul Walker. It's not a perfect movie (but i'd say the ending is perfect, a real perfect way to honor Paul Walker and i cried like a baby) but it is a must watch for all Fast & Furious' fans. Even if you're not, it's still is a good, entertaining movie to watch.

2. The Cobbler
The cinema's focusing on the above and below movies the whole month (the latter still does) that there were not a lot of spot for other movies. We were so bored and longing to watch a movie, we ended up watching this movie although we heard all about the bad reviews. Hunny find Adam Sandler hilarious (i don't really) so he always wants to watch his movies anyway, i was bored so...

Max Simkin is the cobbler, he repairs shoes in his family shop like his father, and his father's father before him. He's not entirely happy with his mundane life, his dull job taking most of his time and then there's his ailing mother to take care of. One day he discovered that there's a magical way for him to step into someone else's shoes (literally) and become that person. Things were fun at first and he finds excitement in life again, but when he's dragged into some criminal's life, it was not so fun anymore.

I'd say that this movie has a very interesting idea actually, and the majority of the movie's nowhere as bad as i expected it to be. Quite lots of amusing moments (it's the milder, more acceptable Adam Sandler's movie, not the outrageous type) to keep me entertaining, sadly i think it's totally under developed, especially with the annoyingly weird ending. I pretty much saw the direction of the ending, but i didn't think that it would be so weird. Not a must watch, but if you're bored and looking for some mindless entertainment, you can watch it on DVD or something.

The movie that definitely needs no introduction *LOL*. Love the Avengers, but nowhere near as much as how much my hunny does! He completely flipped and ordered the tickets as soon as they went for sale, a few days prior. It was great!

Too lazy to write my own words of the plot (and i'm no good in describing super heroes/comic stories anyway) since the whole world knows anyway, so i'm copying the description from its IMDb page :

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for a global adventure.

The Avengers movies just gets better and better! It's super duper entertaining, fast paced, funny, gripping and exciting of course, like one would expect from the franchise-but i really do think the latest installment's the best yet (like i said, the new one keeps on getting better than the last so i might say the same thing on the next one). So many witty and hilarious remarks and scenes, #Undecided totally agreed although to everybody in the audience get them *sigh* #whatsnew.

Totally love the look on Thor's face when Captain America made his hammer moved (why is he so stupidly endearing now? LOL), and Captain America's getting funner too "If the hammer is in an elevator and the elevator's going up-the elevator's not worthy!". LOL. Seriously, those stupid moments... Gotta love them!

And that's all! The briefest monthly movies review i've done yet i think! This month doesn't look like it's going to be any better, we've only watched one movie and it's already the 12th!
