April and May Movies

9:36:00 PM

Hey guys,

We only watched ONE movie on May so i decided to make it an excuse to compile April and May movies into one post again *teehee*.

I am still looking for that old mojo to blog, don't know where i misplaced it T.T.

Anyway, all movies that i watched in April and May are all those fantasy, super hero type of shit. Not that i dislike them, i like all four alright. Are they download/DVD worthy? Let's find out my thoughts on them.

Okay, when i saw the trailer i knew that hunny and Little O would love it, because they're both hard core gamers who spends half of their lives in the virtual world WTF. As for me, i always enjoy this kind of genre but don't always have a connection with them so i didn't have too high of an expectation despite the raving reviews.

The year is 2045, the world has truly gone to shit so most people prefer to mostly live in OASIS, a virtual universe where you can be whoever and whatever you want to be (it was exciting to see all kinds of pop culture characters popping up left and right) do whatever you want and go wherever you want. Your world is limited to your own imagination - and your gaming skill ofc. The OASIS was created by James Halliday, who upon his death left his amazing fortune and total control of the OASIS up for grabs for the winner of his three-part contest he design to find a worthy heir. Wade Watts is a typical young man  with shitty life who is immersed in his life in OASIS, and he also happens to be especially gifted in gaming so against all odds, he manages to win the first challenge. Things starts to go south when him and his friends are being hunted by a conglomerate called IOI who is determined to be get OASIS' control and would do anything to do so.

I would say that the movie is highly, highly entertaining. I love fantasy movies and i guess i love sci-fi, alternate universe, virtual reality and the likes are something that i can appreciate in a movie. I do like this movie and it's a great way to spend your time, but for me personally - it didn't leave any lasting impact. Yes, it's a fun, entertaining movie, and yes i wouldn't mind re-watching it. But did i get affected by it in any way? No, i hardly remember the details of the movie. But would i recommend it? Yes!

Who doesn't know Rampage here? I mean, i didn't play it but even i heard and am familiar with the classic game... Honestly when i heard that they are making a movie based on the angry gorilla game i was like "Huh?". But then i saw The Rock and i really like the big guy so i didn't mind to go and watch it...

Dwayne Johnson plays primatologist Davis, who is fantastic in his job and has a special bond with George - an extrordinarily intelligent silverback gorilla who Davis has been taking care of since it was young. Somewhere, a greedy corporation is having a genetic experiment that goes very wrong and causes George, along with some other animals mutating into aggresive supercreatures (or should i say monsters) that would destroy anything and everything. Davis tries to find an antidote, to both prevent a global catastrophe but also to save George - clearly he has to go against both the government agents (who wants nothing but to destroy the creatures including Geoorge) and the corporation that causes the whole thing in the first place.

Weelll... This is my least favorite movie in this list for me. It's not awful, i don't even think that it's bad but i just don't think it's anything special? It's just your typical popcorn, blockbuster action/scifi movie (i did cry on one scene though). It wouldn't be a total waste of your time but you also wouldn't be missing anything if you never watch it. Capische?

Oke this one... Definitely everybody and their neighbour have watched this so i don't even feel guilty about spoiling anything alright (especially because it's in every articles/videos circulating in the internet last month anyway). A movie so powerful, people actually get mad at each other over spoilers. Don't get me wrong, i hate spoilers too, but this is really on another level! Btw, someone spoiled it for me on FB too and i too contemplate unfollowing him -____-...

Yeah well, what can i say about the summary. Thanos is coming, that should sum it up? LOL. Thanos (who has been the joke in every meme) has only one goal, that is to collect all six Infinity Stones, that if all collected he can erase half of the population with just one flick of his finger. The Avengers are gathered up, adding new members and work together to make sure Thanos fails.

But they failed. Or did they? That is the debate that everybody is in, right? LOL. I personally don't think they failed, the oh-so-suave Doctor Strange himself said that there is no other way, right? So this is surely the path that has to be taken. I do understand the disappointment of the general population, i felt the same way when those Super Heroes were disappearing (especially the hot ones, ahem!) but hey, my husband is pretty well versed in Marvel Universe and how it works, we are more than sure that at least 99% of them are still alive and will be back. I personally am looking forward for the next installments and see what is really happening instead of feeling like Marvel is conning us *LOL*! Did i like it? Hell yeah! I did!

Y'all know i love Deadpool, right? Out of the many many superheroes that i find boring, self-righteous and often holier-than-thou, Deadpool and his craziness really rocks my boat. I am still amazed that parents still bring their toddlers and babies to see this okay WTF. In front of me, a couple actually brought their baby and toddler, and the toddler got scared in the beginning of the movie where there were loads of explosions and Deadpool is slashing people's head's off, arms off, etc - guess what the daddy did? He scolded and threatened the toddler to shut up. Some people are simply not fit to be parents, aaight?

This second movie actually has a lot more feel than the first movie where Deadpool essentially just be himself and be nuts. In the beginning, Deadpool is actually happier than ever, doing what he loves doing (killing bad people *LOL*) and being with the love of his life, they are even planning to start a family together when everything goes super wrong. He made one mistake that leads to the bad guy tracking him down, finding his place and accidentally killed his girlfriend. He wants nothing but the one thing that is almost impossible for him, dying. In his mission to kill himself, he gets tangled into another problem involving a young, angry, uncontrollable boy whom he wants to save and a terminator-like guy who came from the future, dead set on killing the boy off.

The movie is a beautiful mess *LOL*, like Deadpool is supposed to be. I still find it hilarious (again, you have to have a pretty dry sense of humor, and you gotta understand English fluently to get the jokes. The jokes fall flat in translation and i am often the only on roaring in a quiet cinema -___-), maybe not as crazy as the first one because he is ACTUALLY grieving and angry at himself you know, it make sense. I actually like this a lot, some people complain about it not being as funny as the first one, well i personally think that it shouldn't be - given the storyline. And Josh Brolin, there is really something about this dude that makes me happy whenever i see him in a movie, he's just so charming! If you love Deadpool, obviously you have to watch this! If you don't know who Deadpool is but you have a dry, crazy sense of humour and curse like a sailor, you also gotta watch it!

And that's it!

Surely most of you already watched most of the movies listed, right? How do you feel about them?
