Me-Nail Exclusive 12 : Crystal Nail in H2 (SPONSORED)

Hey guys!!!

So... errr, i completely blocked it out (you know, like a kid who refuses to do something he/she doesn't want to) but i actually have a few bottles of Crystal Nail that i haven't reviewed yet *sigh* #BADBLOGGER , the last Crystal Nail review i did was on the 1st of March, so it's definitely been quite a while-it's time to get on with it #slapsselfontherear !

It's my second to last bottle gifted by Me-Nail and it's this gorgeous glittery blue one!

Crystal Nail in H2

Again, i totally forgot to snap pic of the finished result holding the nail polish (oh i actually did, using my Ipad so it really doesn't count *LOL*), in my defense i actually painted (and snapped these pictures) during our South Korea trip, i even finished up the last coat in a cafe because i didn't have time!

H2 is a blue based nail polish with both chunky and fine silver glitters

I took the pictures in our Seoul hotel room and was quite surprised at how bright and awesome the results are #proudmoment

1 coat base coat + 1 coat of H2

Honestly, Crystal Nail is not really the most pigmented or opaque nail polish i've ever tried, especially the jelly-based glittery ones-they are all quite sheer in my experience (after 12 bottles i would say i'm definitely quite an expert on Crystal Nail!) but since the bottled color is quite bright, i was quite surprised when i applied it on and it turned to be very very light-almost baby blue!

I also completely forgot to snap pic of the second step (2 coats of H2) zzz, but it looked almost exactly the same as one coat anyway-very soft and sheer with scattering of glitters. Not that i mind, it's very pretty and as a pastel color lover, it's very pleasing on the eyes for me. I find it to be a wee bit uneven though, so i added a third coat.

Yep, that's me. In a cafe in South Korea. Doing my nails *LOL*.

That's how two coats of H2 looks like!

And that's the pic taken with my ipad, see how baby blue and pretty my nails were anyway? It's so different than the bottled color, but pretty regardless! Already so glossy without top coat too!

1 coat of base coat (Revlon Top Speed) + 3 coats of H2 + 1 coat of top coat (still Revlon Top Speed!)

I already accepted (and embraced) the fact that H2 is never going to look like the bottled colors and it's actually baby blue, but after the third coat it's finally looks brighter (it's actually still sky blue instead of brighter like the bottled color, the picture above's slightly brighter than the color in real life due to lighting and other factors), and more importantly-opaque and packed with glitters, just the way i like it!

As usual, Crystal Nail didn't disappoint with drying speed, it dried out super fast even in the super cold weather (minus something degrees) *or did it dry even faster because of the weather? I don't remember if nail polish dries faster when it's cold or hot @___@ * something that i really love about Crystal Nail. I've ran out of Crystal Nail to try (not that i finished any of the colors, mind you! I think finishing up a nail polish would take me forever! I meant running out of new colors!) and finally been experimenting with different brands of nail polishes again-as i suspected... Crystal Nail really spoil them for me! If the other brands dry longer than a few minutes, i am ready to throw the bottle on the wall! (Well, figuratively. I'm not going to waste any nail polishes hahahaha).

And of course, the staying power's also AH-MAY-ZING-AH!!!! Stayed perfect for 11 (!!!) days before it started to chip! Such a perfect nail polish to apply just before a trip!

Crystal Nail's available in Me-Nail exclusively for IDR 60.000 per bottle after 20% off and you can get 10% off on top of that if you quote "Pink and Undecided" upon your purchase (both online and offline)!

Hey guys...

My heart's broken to pieces #dramatic, my beloved Esprique double shine powder that i now use everytime i wear any makeup to highlight my nose bridge's broken *to pieces. Like my heart!* huhuhuhu... I actually dropped it plenty of times in the past and at worse it cracked a bit in the edge-a few days ago it flew out of my bag and landed in a sink's table not too far away, and the powder crumbled away T.T. I think it's getting thin so it can no longer withold strong bumps :(... of course it's still usable but it's not pretty anymoreeeee #whine. Only hardcore beauty junkies with OCDs can understand my anguish...

Okay, dramatics out of the way. Time to get down to business! Eh, i need to apologize first. I have no idea how but lately i seem to forget snapping pictures of my manicures' final result holding the nail polish's bottle, which is unforgivable in my book! I contemplating re-using the nail polishes just to take that pic, but then i realized that i forgot to do that not to one color, but three... The line of untouched nail polishes are just too long to justify re-using three different nail polishes just to take one particular shot for every color while i already have very clear pics of the nail polishes used anyway.... so.... Imma post them anyway T.T.

And today i am going to review yet another one of my Crystal Nail collection, kindly sponsored by Me-Nail of course :

Crystal Nail in shade NG4

It's a gorgeous, heavily glittery purple-silver shade!

Isn't my Little Pony figurine cute #momentarilydistracted

I thought this was a purple nail polish with silver glitters, but it's actually almost equally silver than it is purple... Does that make any sense at all?

Here let me explain what i mean... I was expecting the polish to be mainly purple-so when the first coat looks super pale and silver-ish, i was quite surprised!

1 coat of base coat (Revlon Top Speed) + 1 coat of NG4

First coat is quite thin and quite uneven-which i totally expected. And since the silver is very strong as well, the color looks very pale with one coat. There was once a time where i liked using pale, soft colors on my nails and nothing else-those days are long gone. I like dark, neon or strongly glittery nails better now (the louder the better, i guess :p) so when i saw how pale and soft one coat of this shade was, i honestly felt a bit underwhelmed.

It dries very speedily like most of the Crystal Nail polishes that i have.

1 coat of base coat + 2 coats of NG4

With the second coat NG4's already opaque (so i didn't feel the need to add the third coat) and i was excited when i can see the pretty purple base better! The silver is still very strong making the shade appear very metallic from afar but up close and personal you can see that it's infused with very fine and beautiful glitters (loads of them)! It's very pretty and shimmery, so those feelings of disappointment of one coat disappear very fast into thin air hahaha.

Although it's clearly glittery, unlike the other shades of Crystal Nail glitter nail polishes that i've tried, NG4's glitters are tiny with no big chunks of large and rough ones so the textures of the surface after it dries also differs from the others. It is quite smooth with no bumps and rough edges that might snag into clothing or other things. The second coat also dries very fast so you do not need to spend a lot of time with minimal movements to prevent your nails from smudging, perfect for someone as impatient as me!

With one thin coat of Revlon Top Speed as the top coat, NG4 stays perfect for 10 days without chipping. I am so spoilt with Crystal Nail's staying power that i was actually shocked when i started using other brands again recently and it chipped on the second day! I don't think i can ever go back to nail polishes with very bad staying power now :(....

Crystal Nail is available exclusively in Me-Nail for IDR 60.000 per bottle after 20% off and you can get 10% off on top of that if you quote "Pink and Undecided" upon your purchase (both online and offline)!

Me-Nail Exclusive 10 : Crystal Nail H7 (SPONSORED)

bright pink

Hi everybody...

I'm in rotten mood lately, everything seems to be pissing me off-yes it's related to my never ending PMS combined with shitty things going around me lately. From my son's weird behaviors that needing correction-which i find hard to deal with because doing it the soft way doesn't work and doing it the hard way (as in telling him sternly and might involves some yelling, i don't believe in hitting your child even though i might've lost it once and smacked his butt when he was being really naughty :p) and disturbing news about...

Sigh, i dunno how much i should reveal publicly, but let's say that it's a bit "supernatural", but not the ghostly kind *LOL*. I might elaborate in another post, if i can get over how silly the whole thing sounds. I always find penning down my thoughts to put me in a better mood, but perhaps for the very first time i would have to lock that blog post and only let certain people read it *sigh*. I hate secrets hahaha.

Anyway... Rotten mood or not, i still need to keep this blog alive if it kills me, can you believe we've come to double digits for Me-Nail exclusive already? Today imma review this beautiful bright glittery pink color from Crystal Nail :

Crystal Nail shade H7

Isn't it pweeetyyyyy???? I lurrvveeeee it :D! Definitely one of my favorite colors from them (i know i keep saying this, but it's true! It totally a close second from my ultimate fave!).

To be completely honest with you, the bottled color didn't excite me too much. It seems quite... common. You know, bright pink. Glitters. Yada. But it translates so beautifully on nails!

The color on the bottle is a lot darker than when applied, in this case i like it that way!

This is how the nail polish looks with one coat :

1 coat of base coat + 1 coat of H7

Sorry about the gross looking nails, maybe you forgot how another shade (a sheer one, of all shades!) of Crystal Nail actually stained my nails so bad that they were severely yellow after i removed it? Thank God no such problem recurred with any other Crystal Nail polishes that i own!

Anyway, one coat of H7, like most nail polishes-is streaky, uneven and a bit patchy. The glitters also aren't as jam-packed like how i like them to be. You can still see my yellow nails peeking out under the color. As usual, it dries very fast.

1 coat of base coat + 2 coats of H7

Much better already! H7 doesn't need a third coat since two coats already make the color opaque, even and completely concealed the yellow stain underneath. The glitter also a lot more packed and so bling looking! I love how the syrupy, fresh color pops against my pale fingers hahaha. I personally think the color on the bottle to be a little tacky, but i totally love it on my nails! Very sweet, vibrant, girly and not tacky whatsoever!

Like all of the other glittery type of Crystal Nails, H7 also last for a very long time! It was still perfect on the 7th day but sadly we had to remove it (is it just me but my heart hurts when i have to get manicures in perfect condition removed!) because i was attending Me-Nail's Water Marble Nail Art workshop! If we didn't remove it that day, i'm positive that it'd last for at least 10 days like the others!

The final result with 1 coat of base coat, 2 coats of H7 and 1 coat of top coat (i used Revlon Top Speed for both base and top coat)

I absolutely love this shade and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves bright, cheerful but sweet glittery pink nail polishes with speedy drying speed and remarkable staying power. Not recommending it for anyone who hates glitter (i love glitter but i can understand why some people hate it, at least for the "a total pain to be removed" point!) and... Nobody else that i can think of. People who hates pink, i guess? LOL.

Crystal Nail's available exclusively in Me-Nail for IDR 60.000 (after discount) per bottle. Get another 10% off by quoting "Pink and Undecided" (can be used both for online and offline purchases!)

Me-Nail Exclusive 09 : Crystal Nail F2 (SPONSORED)

crystal nail

Hey ho..!

Are you up for another Crystal Nail review? I sure hope so! This time it's the shade F2 that's taking the spotlight!

Super sheer, eh? Yeah, actually Me-Nail's SA already told me that it's super sheer when i asked how the color would turn out, she told me that F2 is suitable for manicures that require softer, sheer colors like French manicures for instant. Although i don't really do French manicure (or anything that requires more effort than just painting my nails WTH), i insisted on picking F2 because i really like the cute, neon-jelly (did i tell you that jelly is like my FAVORITE word ever? Geelll..leeee.... LOVE IT!) looking bottled color!

Crystal Nail in Shade F2

I mean... Look at it! Doesn't it reminds you of syrup of something??? Too cute!

So, of course i already know from the start that it's going to be super sheer, but i guess i'm a hopeful person or something (well, not really. Actually i'm an extremely glass half-empty kind of person hahaha) because i kept on hoping that the actual color would at least be similar to the bottled color.

No such luck >.<.

1 coat of base coat + 1 coat of Crystal Nail F2

The first coat of F2 is almost invincible hahaha, just like the mbak told me >.<. It only very slightly make my nails pinker. But even for a French Manicure i find it a tad too pale (i mean, you'd want a pinker tone on your nails or else you could just use a clear polish instead, right?) and would need a second coat. It has a thicker consistency than say, a regular clear polish-so the texture is very syrupy, almost jelly like (it's that word again, imma start screaming hysterically wkwkwkwk).

It dries speedily like almost all of the other Crystal Nail polishes that i've tried (i found one that takes forever to dry-in the end!) but there's one thing that made this particular shade stood out from the 13 bottles of Crystal Nails that i have : it's scented! I didn't even realized it at first (because i really don't have the habit of sniffing my nail polish's bottles or my freshly painted nails-unless i knew from the start that i am using a scented nail polish!) but after a while i smelt something sweetly fruity and then i realized that it's the nail polish! Hahaha. So silly. Anyway, the scent's really nice and definitely a plus compared to strong, regular nail polishes scents!

1 coat base coat + 2 coats F2

With two coats, the color turned pinkier, i would say that it's the perfect shade for a French Manicure. It confuses me a bit that the color looks pinky instead of orange-ish like the bottled color, but turned out you need to use more than two coats to bring out the true color of the polish. The second layer takes a bit longer to dry but at still on an OK time.

If you just want a hint of color on your nails, like maybe your workplace won't let you wear loud colors on your nail-then two coats of F2 would do nicely. As for me, it was way too sheer and i felt like my nails looked too naked so i decided to use it as a base for flake polishes and used Etude X Disney XOXO Minnie in the Nails #6 Minnie Black Face (full review here).

Instead of just using it as a base though, i tried to do this technique that i've always been quite curious of : jelly sandwich manicure. So after the flakes, i applied another coat of F2 in place of the usual clear top coat.

And here's the result!

It's quite nice! And finally with the third coat, the color become more orangey! Anyway, most of Crystal Nail polishes has pretty great staying power, however Etude's Minnie in the Nails also have spectacular staying power! So i have no idea if this manicure would've stayed for as long as it did (it only starting to chip on the 8th day. It could've stayed even longer than 8 days while still looking decent but i peeled them off because i was supposed to attend the Water Marble Nail Art Workshop, which ended up being re-scheduled) if i used my normal top coat only.

In a more negative note, this is the first time ever after 7 positive reviews i wrote about Crystal Nails that i've been disappointed by their product. This has NEVER happened before (or after)s, my nails always stayed perfectly healthy (despite being slightly yellow from the constant use of nail polishes, btw i ALWAYS use base coats), that's why i was extremely shocked when i removed this particular color and it actually stained my nails badly *cry* :

It's not the normal yellow you might get from frequent use of nail polishes okay, this is deep stains!

Now, this is a sponsored post, but i've always (and have every intention of staying that way for as long as i blog) been nothing but honest when i review products-sponsored or not. I also immediately contacted Me-Nail's owner (yes, my cousin L, but i won't be biased don't worry) and she told me to go ahead and write the review anyway. She also told me she'd contact Crystal Nail's supplier and tell them about the problem.

I believe when a company/brand/store is confident with their products and services, they wouldn't mind a slightly negative review (coz nobody's perfect and all that) because they have nothing to hide and is very honest with their products, instead they use any criticism to better themselves. Thumbs up for Me-Nail!

This is a very unusual problem, most of the time if a nail polish going to stain your nails it'd be the dark, deep colors (like burgundy or black), not super sheer color like this! So i have no idea if i got a bad bottle, or it's combination of different elements (like my nail's health, etc)-i cannot judge this color base on my experience only. I do intend to try it again in the future and report back if it leaves the same stain.

I hope this doesn't prevent you from trying out Crystal Nail products since i did not encounter any problem whatsoever with the other 12 bottles of Crystal Nails that i have! Btw, other than the yellow stain, it did not cause any other damage to my nails. After they grow out, my nails turned back to completely normal. You can browse this blog with the keyword "Crystal Nail" to check out my experiences with the other Crystal Nail polishes.

Me-Nail Exclusive 08 : Crystal Nail M37 (SPONSORED)

blue

Hey hoooo :D!

I can't believe it's already more than a week into 2015 (i tots juts typed 2014 *sigh*) and i only have two posts up, none of which remotely beauty related! I totally thought after being absent from blogging for almost a month i'd want to write nonstop, but no... As much as i missed my blog, the writing part seems to come back slowly *LOL*.

I just have so much stuffs to do (unpacking's a total B!!! I hate unpacking huhuhu) and so much on my mind (personal like the endless tasks i have to do but have no will to do so, or not so personal like the whole Air Asia tragedy :(... Yes, i still can't stop thinking about them :(... At least the plane's found already, i hope we'd get some answers soon instead of blindly blaming each other for the accident) that i'm gonna need a little more time to get back into rhythm. I have plenty of blog posts prepped and lining up though, my OCD should kick in anytime and things should get to normal (hopefully) soon!

To kick start the beauty related posts in this blog for 2015, let's start with my beloved sponsor, Me-Nail's product (yes, i am good to my sponsors *hint* *hint* *LOL* *kidding*) : Crystal Nail polish in gorgeous sky blue color!

Well, at least to me it looks sky blue *LOL*...

The color's in shade 37

I really love the bottled color and as usual, Crystal Nail didn't disappoint! When i used it on my nails, it turned out to be my favorite color out of all 13 Crystal Nails that i own! That's no easy feat coz i really love their glitter polishes a lot! Let's see how it applies :

1 coat of base coat + 1 coat of M37

The texture of M37 is not too runny nor too thick, i would say it's just right to work with easily. One coat is a bit sheer, streaky and patchy. As you can see from the picture above, my nail beds were still showing through the blues. It applies rather uneven (some parts are fully covered while others aren't), but not to worry! A second coat would take care of that. It dries fast, as other Crystal Nail polishes-this is a quality that i really love from this brand!

1 coat of base coat + 2 coats of M37

M37 is actually opaque enough with only two coats, however it's still a bit patchy (it could be down to human error, you know i'm not that good when it comes to painting my nails!) so i have to maneuver the polish around so all the patchiness are covered and evened up. It's not hard to do, but i should mention that i added more polish in some parts to make them all even.

The end result of two coats (and a half? LOL. Gotta count the ones i added to even out the colors, yes?) is totally opaque, very bright sky blue (exactly like the bottled color), quite glossy (i haven't added a top coat in the pic above) and it's safe to say that i', really satisfied! It's just such a fun, pretty color!

Final result with top coat on, can you see how the color on my nail matches the bottled color exactly? Some nail polishes have the tendencies to look a bit different on your nails (and may cause slight disappointment if the bottled color is the one you're really going for), but no such problem with M37!

Staying power, however, fall on the poorer spectrum for Crystal Nail. M37 starts to chip around the base as fast as the 3rd day, and totally unravels on the 7th day. It's not a big deal, and it's still a decent staying power compared to other nail polishes in their price range.

Personally i am in love with this shade, it's just such a bright, attention grabbing color but still kawaii! I would highly recommend M37 for anyone who are looking for an unusual bright blue nail polish with affordable price tag!

Me-Nail Exclusive 06 : Crystal Nail H1 (SPONSORED)

crystal nail

Yellowwww :D!

It seems like my life's been quite green lately *LOL*, as in i've been bombarded with everything green and forced to wear green all the time *you know, dress codes!*. Dunno why green is such a hot color these last couple of months! As someone who's not naturally attracted to the color, i have love-hate relationship with that fact!

And today imma review Crystal Nail number six, which is a glittery bottle green color.

I don't quite remember if it's one of the colors that i picked for myself or L did... But i think the latter is more possible since honestly the color in the bottle scares me a bit!

It's just so... green. LOL

I do love glitters and that helps!

Like all of the other glitter Crystal Nail, one coat of H1 is quite sheer (but nowhere near as sheer as the yellow gold one!) and the glitters that got picked up were mostly the fine ones.

It was quite patchy and uneven too, so a second coat is crucial! Drying time was speedy, as expected.

With the second coat, it became opaque and the glitter were packed enough to satisfy this glitter-lover. So sorry, i know that my swatch is not the neatest, i can see how i painted some nails thicker than the others in the photos >.<. That's purely human error, not Crystal Nail's fault! It's so much better in real life and doesn't look so uneven, i promise!

I was honestly very pleasantly surprised about how pretty the color on my nails was, so emerald looking! Especially with the glitters, it made the tone seems very jewel-looking! I was absolutely enchanted by my mermaid-worthy nails!

So... From now on i know, if you should never judge book by its cover, you should also not judge a nail polish by its bottled color ha ha ha #cricketsounds. I actually thought the color was kinda tacky and even a bit dangdut-ish... But once applied, it's far from the word tacky! I keep on changing my mind about calling this my mermaid nails or... errr... Nyi Roro Kidul's nails (it's so emerald looking, i totally think she would approve) :P.

I don't think i need to say anything of the drying speed again huh, it's safe to say that Crystal Nail's glitter colors dries super speedily!

Not only the drying speed is the signature of Crystal Nail, but also the staying power. It stayed perfect for 7 whole days and even after the 7th day, it only started chipping minimally. I now deem Crystal Nail's glitter colors as my traveling nails if i am too lazy to go get gel manicures hahaha.

H1 definitely *very unexpectedly* one of my fave Crystal Nail colors, it's just so bold, striking but remains classy and non-tacky-looking!

As usual, you can get Crystal Nail colors exclusively in Me-Nail for IDR 60.000 (originial price IDR 75.000 with 20% off).
