Happy Chinese New Year!!!

My Chinese zodiac was not under the luckiest star last year, and even though i do not actually believe in zodiac (Chinese or not) and/or fortune tellers, i did notice that i got sick a lot (for long periods of time) and i also spent a lot of money (even though we're super blessed and get a lot more back in income, hundred times over!) and lost a lot of my precious possessions (i do not want to think about it anymore though) so... I'm pretty relieved that year of the Snake's over (although the bad lucks are not supposed to go away until the 3rd of February, according to the prophecy hehe)!

2013/Snake year was amazing for me, but i believe 2014 and the horse year (which is supposedly a good year for those under Pig Zodiac. #Undecided told me that the more we celebrate *anything at all* the more we will gain in return. If it doesn't indicate a fun-filled year ahead i dunno what does!) is going to be even more amazing (well, of course i know 2014 has been going on for a full month, so far so good)!

Anyway, i will tell ya all about my Chinese New Year celebration soon, but for not now. Lemme do this unboxing thingy first before January 2014's truly over!

So, i got an e-mail from BTI earlier in mid January :

My initial reaction was : WTF? A beauty box that claimed they cannot send out their BEAUTY BOXES? What kind of joke is this??? LOL. Well, as we all know, BTI has been going from good to bad to horrible in a few short months so... I wasn't too shocked or whatever when i received this. My own subscription to them was also already finished last December (Thank God), but like you should already know-i got two free boxes (January and February) from their affiliation program.

I decided not to ask for the refund because : 1. This was a free box, what if they tell me i cannot ask for the money since i never paid for it in the first place? 2. We all know that BTI's CS aren't actually the most accommodating and communicative CS in the world, i wasn't interested to go through all the hassle of making sure they really send the refund (or fight with them if the drag it on, or make a scene about it being free).

I was also not interested to option C, i would surely spend even more money if i choose this option (as i might get dragged and shop for a lot of stuffs instead), so i went to the most logical option (for me) : B.

The "Smell Deliciously Good From Head to Toe" didn't interest me at all, i know both boxes in option B would contain stuffs we already received in past boxes and i was not especially fond of the ones they featured in that box, so i went for option 2 (there was no explanation for the contents of this second option back then). I was attracted to the "All About Makeup" theme and was hoping it'd be full with full sized makeups or something *wishful thinking, i know :p*. And here's what i got in my box :

I kinda expected the box to be quite colorful (all about makeup should be fun and colorful, don't you think?? Unfortunately the name's a lot more fun than the actual box haha)

Make Up Forever HD Blush (4 sachets)

I have three plastic-sets full of these HD blush samples by now. I received them twice before (also from BTI) in here and here . I was excited the first time i got this, the third time? Not anymore *LOL*. At least with 12 sachets i can move them all into a jar and probably have enough to make my own travel sized sample hahaha. And plus i finally get the hang of using cream blushers (after years of being frustrated by them hahaha. Nothing a good dose of blog-walking, Googling plus a little chat with fellow make up enthusiasts-in this case was Lina-can't fix!)! Should finally try them out soon.

Secret Key Snow White Cream and Let Me Know CC Cream (2 sachets each)

I received them before here. You know how i feel about sachet samples, they should've sent more of each, then i'd be happier. LOL.

Kay Beauty Dual Sided Eye Brush

I got them before here. Do i need so much eye brushes? I dunno, i get by with what i got now (which are not a lot, at all). Maybe i need to use more brushes so i can feel a bit more legitimate and professional. LOL. I still use my fingers a lot to apply make up, whatta crappy beauty blogger.

Utama Spice Clay Face & Body Mask

One of the only two items in this box that i've never gotten before. I don't really use other types of masks other than sheet masks, but clay is supposedly good for oily skin and to prevent blackheads so, yep.. Pretty good item i guess.

Caring Colors BB Cream (2 sets)

I received the same exact sachet sets twice (all from BTI) here and here. I actually don't mind though, each sachets are filled with pretty generous amount of BB Cream, having four sets probably equal one full sized BB Cream by now *LOL*. I never really think about putting sachet samples in jars until i read it in some blog, having a lot of the same sachet samples ,i think this is a fantastic idea. Will incorporate it soon!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks in B43 Toffee Cream

I got the same type of lipstick twice from them, here (in another shade) and latter here-unfortunately the exact same shade as this one so i most probably will give this away. I always love getting full size products, especially make ups. If only they sent me a different shade i'd be pretty happy to get it!

Secret Key Deep Moisture Energy Facial Oil (10ml)

The second (and last) item that i've never received before. It's pretty interesting, i never had any facial oil and honestly had never really thought of trying them out mostly because of the obvious and common reason : suspicion of what a facial oil would do to my already super oily skin, will it make my skin even more oilier? I read that people with oily skin shouldn't be too scared of facial oil though, and i had the same reservation towards oil cleansers and hair oils (both that i ended up really loving!) once so i will definitely give it a try and see if i actually would like it (like oil cleansers and hair oils) or hate them (like body oils).

All and all, very boring and uninspiring box if only because i have received most of the items once or twice before. If i received all of the items for the very first time i think i'd be pretty happy though. And it's not a surprise box afterall, being a "special" and fixed box... i think it's okay. I'm not jumping up and down in excitement (but i do not feel like flinging the box to the sea either :p). This box also makes me suspect them trying to clear out their stocks of old samples/products and whether or not they will continue to be a beauty box service (you've heard about First Blush going belly up right? After FOUR boxes or so?) since they don't seem to have any new brand partners and keeps on sending out products from the brand they are now selling in their online shop (i have my suspicion that they will change direction and become an online shop only sometime soon). You know, Secret Key. Seems that you'll only see Secret Key exclusively now in terms of new products!

Unboxing : July Beauty Treats (Gold Box)

Hi y'all!

Before July officially ended, i have to blog about BTI's Gold Box July edition. Don't blame me for blogging about it so late, they only arrived a few days ago (not even a week ago). It was like, almost two weeks later after the Platinum Box arrived. I guess i was right when i called the Gold Box "the unloved step daughter". LOL. The service (and contents) are too different between the two boxes OMG.

And again, i didn't see any improvement with BTI's customer service, when i asked them where my Gold Box was, they only said "It's already been sent, we will check your status", but no further info afterward, even though i repeatedly asked them via Twitter and e-mail. WTF. I chatted with another beauty blogger and she agreed that the customer service sucks and not very friendly at all. I had so much faith in them, but now i beginning to see why so many people got so angry at them *LOL*.

But since this is the last Gold Box (and so far, Gold boxes-even though there are only two of them, been a total dissapointment for most of their members), i still have hope, that the next box (that will only be available on September) will be much better and they can redeem themselves. See how faithful i can be? LOL. Here's a peek into my July Gold Box.

Personally i think the box looks much better than last month's Gold Box, even from the first glance. It looks fuller and not as sad as last month's. But it's not great either *LOL*. Here's the low down.

I read Shasha's unboxing entry and saw how damaged her box was, and once mine arrived (two days later, i think), i saw from the outer box that mine was also in a pretty bad condition! Look at the dent on the right side!

PFFFTTTT! Seriously, i agree with those who said that getting beauty boxes is like getting a present (from yourself), so imagine how disappointed most people are (me strongly included!) to get a dented present box! Yes, it's just a box, but we paid for their services and the whole nine yard, box should be included, yes??? Told ya i am very particular when it comes to this kind of things, i was already so disappointed when last month's boxes arrived with tears on the corners, and this month one of it arrived in far from perfect condition, AGAIN? OMG. PPPPFFFTTTT!

My niece AU spotted my blue boxes, and she was like "SO PRETTYYY I WANT ONEEE GIMMIE GIMMIEE GIMMIEEEE" and since i kinda collect those boxes now (and use them to place my jewelries and make ups), one in every color, i told her she could get the dented one LOLOLOL. She whined and all, but i told her i think if she push the dent back and hold it for a few minutes, it would be undented. It worked, but of course there were some bumps in results, but since Au didn't seem to mind... *shrug*... I don't have any spare space for the extra box anyway :p.

Well yeah, at least with the festive gold ribbons (?) or whatever, it looked better when i opened it (compared to last month's)

First item :

Shobi Eyebrow Pencil (real size, worth IDR 35.000)

I've never heard of the brand Shobi before, so it was good, but the problem is... I don't wear anything on my eyebrow *____*. I don't even know how to draw them or whatever. I have super thick brows to begin with, and the only thing i need to do to them... is to pluck them every once in a while. Went to the Brow House in Jakarta once and the mbak (what do you call a person who works in a brow salon, anyway??? If they work in a nail salon they're called nailist, so... browist? WTF LOLOLOL) told me my brows are (each strands) super thick and hard to pluck hahaha.

So... i don't even know what i'm gonna do with this thing. Seriously, my brows are so thick and black, if i try to draw on them, you won't be seeing anything but my real brows anyway. Can eyebrow pencils be used as... say, eyeliners maybe? LOLOLOL. Haish. Dunno lah, might give it away. Not so happy with this item, but can't fault them because i think it's unreasonable to expect them to know that i don't use eyebrow products LOL.

Bath&Body Works Hand Sanitizer Pocketbac in Midnight Pomegranate (Real size, worth IDR 35.000)

Got the same thing (but thankfully in a different scent) in Platinum Box. I've said it before and i'll say it again, i love pocketbac and always use them, so i am actually happy to get it. Now i have stocks and don't actually have to buy them (i feel guilty buying lots of them, so i only have a few. I only use a new one when the old one is finished anyway). I know some other bloggers were super unhappy getting this, and also said "since when does a hand sanitizer considered a beauty product???", but IMHO, toothpaste or sweeteners are as far from being beauty products as hand sanitizers (both had appeared in Lola Box and Vanity Trove and nobody seemed to be too angry about it, so why should they be with this?).

I like pocketbacs because they are so cute and almost always smells so good (and the varieties are staggering), and if you might argue that a toothpaste can belong to a beauty box coz it's for your teeth, then i can also argue that hand sanitizers with such nice smells belongs to a beauty box because it's for your hands, and it'll not only make your hands bacteria free but also smells good, so it can be in the same category as a perfume or hand cream. You have an opinion, i can also have one, right? LOL. So yeah, i do like this item, and fortunately i also quite like the scent (even though i prefer the one that i got from the Platinum Box).

Maybelline Moisture Extreme Color Sensational Lipstick in BR 41 Windsor Rose (Real Size, worth IDR 35.000)

This is one item that i'd normally be super happy about. Remember, #Pink, make up junkie, will be happy with any make up items from any brand worth any price? Problem is... From the same Unboxing entry i read in Shasha's blog... She wrote that the lipstick that she got was 2 years old already! I immediately checked my own lipstick's manufacturing date, and she's right, it stated 01 2011, that means January 2011, right???

Honestly, i am horrible with this kind of detail, i would never check the dates or whatever, and i'd never realize that it's 2 years old already if i didn't read Shasha's entry. And i am so disgusting that i'd wear it anyway (yes, now), thing is you know how prone i am to suggestion! So now i am also feeling disappointed that they would give out old lipsticks! What's up with that! ZZZZ! Would've made my day if only they send a fresh lipsticks (or i never found out about the manufacturing date *LOL*).

Caring Colours BB Cream Test Kit

You know i am a BB cream (and now itching to get my hand on any CC cream, arghhh) junkie, and i am always always happy to get any BB cream sample, so i was okay when i got this. But i remember perfectly that i already got the exact same samples before, i just didn't remember from which beauty box and when. So i searched my own entries, and then i realized... That the box that gave me the exact same samples, it was BTI!!! WTF! Why would they give out the same exact thing twice? LOLOLOL. Isn't the purpose of a beauty box is for us to try new (or not so new) samples, but what's so surprising or exciting about getting the exact same thing, twice???

That being said, i'd be much more bitter if i were to get the same items twice if it's skin care products or whatever. I am not so angry because i love BB creams, and these samples are amazing for my travels. But i can imagine a lot of their members would be furious. Isn't it like, defeating the very purpose of a beauty box? I think if they paced themselves further, maybe giving out the same items after a year or so it'd be more acceptable, but it's only been two months! Tsk tsk tsk, BTI!

Last item :

Nivea UV Extra Whitening Serum (Real size, worth IDR 16.000)

I realized a lot of other BTI members were quite annoyed that they're getting this, they said it can be found in the nearest mini market *LOL*. Of course they are right, but you know how easy it is to please me, right? I don't actually mind this item. I already have this (because it's kinda new, and whenever there's something new in the beauty or bath and body care world, i'd immediately want to try them, and it was on an introduction promo so i grabbed it FTL), but i actually am quite pleased to get it. You know, hoarder's problem. Whatever thing i know i will use (and know that it'd be good coz Nivea's always good when it comes to body lotions, couldn't say the same for their facial cares though) is always good in my book. See. So easy to please me hahaha.

That's my Gold box! Just checked my booklet and realized unlike usual, when they'd at least have one or two interchangeable items, they don't have anything that can be different (except for the scents/colors) in every box. LOL. So weird. They need to stick to concept soon, because it's getting more and more confusing.

Value-wise, it's actually not that bad. Not including the BB cream testers, all of the other stuffs are actually full sized, and worth more than IDR 100.000 (when you pay IDR 95.000 only for a Gold box), but it's not always about the value-for-money, isn't it? I don't think it's the main reason for people to sign up to beauty box services, it certainly wasn't mine! I do wish they'd pay more attention to things like manufacturing date (or maybe they did, but they got a good deal from the brand and decided to wing it, hoping people wouldn't notice? Then they seriously under estimated the beauty community in Indonesia *LOL*) and stuffs! And most importantly, work on the customer service BTI! Seriously!

The whole gold box, platinum box, little black box (their new concept starting September when gold and platinum boxes will R.I.P-just two months old haha) thing also getting on my nerves. I signed up for the gold box for 6 months since July, that means i am subscribed until December and then i also got two free boxes (for January and February) from the affiliation program, but since there would not be any August box, they should change the dates in every member's data right??? Mine hasn't change, and that worries me. I tried to contact them *again, WTF, i dunno why i kept trying*, but they only said it'll move to the next month automatically. But how can i be sure if they didn't change the datas in the friggin' web, huh??? It still stated July to December until now. I am so annoyed zzzz.

There's at least one good thing about the little black box, it'll cost IDR 125.000 (yeah, they keep on changing the pricing as well LOL) and if like me you already signed up for the gold box (that costs IDR 95.000) for more than one month, you will still get the little black box with no extra charge (if you signed up for the Platinum one that's worth IDR 135.000 they give you back the extra IDR 10.000, maybe slip it into your box or something), so that's at least nice for the Gold box subscribers *LOL*.

I still have little hopes that BTI can shake all of the troubles away, and rise from this... mess. LOL. I hope their little black box would be better than the disaster that was their gold boxes (but personally i don't think this month's that bad. It's not great, but it's not horrible either. It can be better if only the box weren't dented and the lipstick wasn't old). And i hope they will work on the customer service area, coz it needs works ASAP.

I read sometime ago from a Malaysian beauty blog that the blogger was once almost too embarrassed to introduce the beauty box to her reader, and i now know how she felt. Judging from the last two Gold boxes, i cannot recommend BTI to you *so sad coz their first two boxes were fantastic. Maybe that's why it hurts so bad, to fall so low from one box to the next.. Beauty Treats May 2013

I finally received my May Beauty Treats after waiting for a while (i've been stalking their twitter and was so jealous of people who tweeted that they've already received theirs!!!), and the box made all the waiting totally worth it, beause... it's simply AWESOME!!! I'm sooo in love with them at the moment *LOL*, i can safely say Beauty Treat's my ultimate favorite beauty box service to date! Oh yes, i finally decided, there's no going back now!

Like i said, i've been waiting super anxiously for my 2nd Beauty Treats box ever since i got their e-mail about a week ago where they told us that their May box' already on their ways, i kept on BBM-ing my employee everyday to check whether my box arrived yet, and had to swallow my disappointment everyday *dramatic* because she'd always reply "Not yet."

Earlier today, she BBM'ed me telling me another package (from an online shop) had arrived, again i replied with "What about my Beauty Treats?" to which she annoyingly only read and never replied *reminded me to kick her ass a little bit hahahaha*, imagine my surprise when hunny went home toting two boxes, one clearly was Beauty Treats! YAY!!!

I totally thought the sleek black box like i receive last month would be their signature box, so imagine my surprise when i opened it and see...

OMG!!! PINK overload!!! #Pink LOVES!!!

First thing i saw was this greeting card, and then i saw the hand written message... PS : Congratz, you won! I was like... I won what??? What did i win??? I mean... i didn't even enter their contest or whatever!

And then, the box... The beautiful baby pink box... It's such MY color, i felt like this month's box' especially design for MOI *self-absorbent*!!! I took a lot more pictures of the box than usual, that alone should be an indicator of how much i love it...

I love BTI (Beauty Treats Indonesia lah) not only for their box and products, but also because they provided the best and most usable vouchers as well!

Both vouchers are for online usage so it won't be useless for me! Other boxes featured vouchers that can only redeemed in Jakarta so it's a total trash for me! Plus other boxes only featured uninteresting brand's voucher that i would never use anyway, even if i can use it in Surabaya! To be fair, BTI also featured vouchers that can only be redeemed in Jakarta last month, but they improved it this month by featuring vouchers that can be used by us from any part of Indonesia. Kudos to them! I am going to use both vouchers, i think :p.

OMG! I was super excited to see that the box seemed to be super packed! This is the most "crowded" beauty box i've ever received so far! So pretty too, allow me to add one more picture before i untie the pretty pink bow *in love*..

I was like... Is that Make Up Forever compact powder i see there??? WTH, am i seeing things??? What is MUFE's full sized compact (and refill) doing in my box of beauty samples??? Isn't it worth a fortune @___@???

I immediately tweeted them, and they confirmed that i was one of the five contestants (what contest, though???) that won MUFE products worth more than IDR 700.000! OMG!!! I'm so dizzy, i paid IDR 95.000 for this box... LOL!

Okay okay, sorry, too excited lor! I'm a very easy to please person, my good mood from getting something like this could last forever hahaha. Now let's take a look at the items one by one!

Rudy Hadisuwarno Hair Intense Repair Serum

If you've been following this blog and read my beauty boxes unboxing entries, you'd know i'm not too keen on getting hair products, so this is unsurprisingly is my least fave item in this box. But seriously, i'm so high with love for BTI, i didn't mind getting this at all hahaha *seriously biased*. I am also start warming up to hair product samples, in fact those hair products samples i got from previous boxes was the items i've tried out most (but then again maybe that's because i'm not in love with them so i don't feel like keeping them and want to finish them ASAP? Haha). I will be using this soon, as soon as i finished that Makarizo stuffs from Vanity Trove. By the way, this product's come with real size, not sample size!

Skin Aqua Set

Another big sized item, they're a LOT bigger than your usual sample size (15g each)! I think that would be perfect to bring to a longer vacation. The set consisted of UV Mild Milk, UV Moisture Gel, UV Whitening Milk and UV Moisture Milk. I've always been attracted to Skin Aqua before but i'm not very adventurous when it comes to skin care so i don't really purchase other stuffs than the ones i am used to, now i can try them and see if i like them, thanks to BTI!

Hada Labo

I got the Mild Peeling face wash and Gokujyun Alpha Ultimate Anti Aging Lotion. Very happy with these two too, always heard great things about Hada Labo and i am very biased toward Japanese stuffs anyway... Plus i love getting the generously sized facial wash (15g) i can bring on my travels (speaking of which... we're actually going for a mini vacay tomorrow to Batu, and i'm not even halfway done with my Europe posts *LOL*). The toner was superb as well, and i got the perfect one, anti aging-totally useful! I'm so old FML. It's also 15ml. Wah, BTI's totally ruining the sample size's market for beauty boxes hahaha.

D'Eyeko Olga Lydia False Lashes

Errr... My third fake lashes from beauty boxes, and 2nd from BTI *LOL*, i also received Olga Lydia's lashes on last month's BTI LOLOL, but i think they're not the same variant (sorry, too lazy to check my stash... but judging from the pictures i'm sure they're not). If i'm not mistaken, this one's more natural looking. I'm not ecstatic about getting yet another false lashes (OMG, i might need a special drawer for them by the end of the year if beauty boxes going to feature them in their every box!), but i'm not going to complain. I can always add them to a pressie parcel i make for my friends. I also plan to wear them more *yeah right* hahaha, no really, going to have some formal events to attend next month, i think i can make an extra effort and stick some false lashes!

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Naturel

I love getting make up in my beauty box more than skin care, of course i am happy with this one! And from such a prestigious brand as well! I don't normally buy brands like MUFE (i'm more into Asian brands and drug store brands), so it's super nice to be able to try them :). This one come in tester size. The color in the middle screamed my name!

Caring Colors BB Creams

Super happy to get this as well! I've always wanted to try Caring Colors' BB cream since i'm a curious george and i am a fanatical BB cream lover, i am always curious about non-Korean BB cream (because one tend to associate BB creams with Korean brands even though they weren't the inventor but they sure were the one made it super famous!), especially local branded one! But i hesitated to buy these BB creams since their price's actually the same (or even higher than some) with Korean BB creams and i've heard from a friend that their BB cream's not color-friendly for super pale girls like moi! Now i can try them anyway yay!!!

Also extra happy that they gave me all three variants (Fair White, Everlast and Luminizing), and again, with a generous size! Usually i hate sachet samples but this BB cream sachet's a lot bigger than usual BB cream samples! I think they housed at least 3x more amount of BB creams than the usual samples. The packaging stated they were 3g each.

Acnes Pore Strip (1 strip)

If you been reading this blog for awhile, you'd know i love Acnes products and swear by them, so obviously i am happy to receive any Acnes products. This pore strip will come in handy to use on hunny's nose *because i don't really use pore strips, i prefer to go for regular facials, and squeeze my nose every other days LOL, my blackheads all very easy to squeeze out :p. Disgusted yet?*

Koji Eyeliner Pencil

Another make up product, oh yay!!! I so love getting more and more make up products in my beauty boxes, BTI May housed the most of them so far! I don't buy eyeliners often, i try to finish my current ones and they took forever to finish, so getting one from a beauty box' always a nice thing. I just read in the guide book that it's sample size, but it looked normal/full sized to me! Love the purplish-hot pink packaging as well!

My FAVE item!!! The third make up item in the month's box, BTI you're awesome! And the first blush on (full size) from any beauty box! You know i can't live without blush on, right? I've been wanting to try Face on Face products since they first appeared, but it's a bit hard to get their products in Surabaya, you have to go to specific stores to get them, i don't really do that... I prefer to get my make up at the mall, or online, so i never get them. That explains why this is my FAVE item from this box! A blush on (LOVE!) from a brand that i really want to try. Double points!

Make Up For Ever White Definition Instant Brightening Powder Foundation

Those two are the extra items i got for winning the contest (seriously, what contest??? Arghhh, let it go #Pink, what's the point of obsessing over the contest, what matters is.... You WON! Somehow!). Seriously... MUFE... expensive brand... got the compact+refill! WOW!!!! How can i not love BTI, i ask you????

All and all, i am BLOWN away by their box. No, i'm being serious here, even if i didn't get the MUFE pressies, the box would still be the best beauty box i've got so far! It's simply perfect (jam-packed! With generous sized items! And personally i think they featured wonderful items this month!), down to the pink box! So yeah, BTI hands down won the title of my FAVORITE beauty box service! As you know i've subscribed to their Gold box for 6 months (starting next month, the first two i subscribed monthly), and a month for theuir Platinum box, i am so renewing the subscription to 6 month for the Platinum one as well!

One more thing, i haven't check my BTI profile for the longest time. Last time i checked only L (my cousin la) subscribed via my affiliation link, just now i saw... I am eligible for a free box already! OMG! Thank you, readers! You guys are awesome!
