Food4Skin 26 : Suika Beauty - Alovivi and Purevivi (SPONSORED)

I think it's not a secret anymore that i LOVE Japan (i didn't go to Japan every year, three years in a row if i don't love it so much. In fact i already miss Japan and really want to return and explore more cities) and everything related to it. As much as i love Korean beauty, i personally, secretly still think that Japanese beauty is still better quality than most of them >.<, packaging wise and trend wise maybe not so much but Japanese products are always timeless, trustworthy and ofc has top notch quality. That's why i am super delighted when i get the chance to try out Suika Beauty products which are all directly from Japan and is now easily available in Indonesia, yay!

Suika Beauty products are made of two brands : Alovivi and Purevivi

Currently Suika Indonesia is carrying 6 variants of products from Alovivi and Purevivi combined (i think they will bring more products in gradually), and even though the fact that they are a Japanese brand (that won Monde Selection Cosmetics Division Gold Awards) is more than enough as a testament to their trustworthy-ness for me, you can also rest assured that all of the products available in Indonesia are also already BPOM certified :D.

I am lucky enough to receive all of available Alovivi and Purevivi products. I apologize that i forgot to feature the sheet mask but i will have a separate picture later ^^

I have been using all of these products for 2 weeks (and loving them, i had no doubt about it tho from the beginning *LOL*) and today i am going to share with you my thoughts on each products ^^.

First up are the Purevivi products that are all for cleansing purposes :

Purevivi Cleansing Lotion and Purevivi Cleansing Sheet

Before we get into details, let me tell you that Purevivi Cleansing Sheet it currently my favorite cleansing sheet that i've ever tried. It's SO good!

Purevivi Cleansing Sheet - IDR 195,000 (50 sheets)
This cleansing sheet is suitable for sensitive skin

It comes in a big white pack with very Japanese style, convenient but super secure opening system. The opening can be closed back super easily and securely that i have no worries of the cleansing sheet drying out, unlike most cleansing sheet available in the market

As expected, all of the information is in Japanese though hehe so imma give you the information you should know here : Purevivi Cleansing Sheet is fragrance, coloring, oil, paraben, alcohol, cationic activator free. And it's made of non woven materials and is as soft as cotton.

So i always had a love and hate relationship with cleansing sheets. I love to bring them on my travel because i am usually exhausted at the end of the day and cannot bother with my usual, very elaborate, very tedious cleansing steps so i love having one product that can remove all makeup and dirt with one step. However, my previous experience with cleansing sheets left little to be desired. Most cleansing sheet that i used before were not gentle enough that i feel i rub my skin raw after using it, the more powerful ones stings while the gentler formula-ed once makes me have to use maybe 5 sheets to be able to remove my makeup completely, this means it takes forever and hence defeating its main purpose to be a fuss free and fast facial cleanser. Don't get me started on how they always manage to get all dried out before i finish them - i was just not a fan.

Until Purevivi, ofc. Purevivi Cleansing Sheet is basically everything that i want and need from a cleansing sheet - and more. The sheet itself is super soft but sturdy and thick, also wide enough to really get the entire face, it doesn't tear or showing signs of wearing down even though i admit i can be super rough when using it :p. It doesn't sting at all (it's alcohol free!), has almost no scent and it's super duper effective! It removes even my waterproof mascara and eyeliner easily. It makes my skin feels super clean but it's so gentle that my skin also feels totally refreshed and hydrated after usage. It also leaves no residue or stickiness behind so it's probably the only cleansing sheet i trust enough to use on its own (i still wash my face afterwards but when i'm super tired i know i can just use it on its own and my skin won't break out). If you're wondering, when i use full, heavy makeup, i use two sheets max to remove my makeup completely, for everyday light makeup i only need one.

I LOVE this product so much, it's definitely my favorite products out of the 7 that i tried. All of the products are good, but if am forced to only recommend one product, this would be it. If you are in the market for super gentle, super effective, super good cleansing sheet that would definitely work for all skin types even sensitive ones - please. I implore you. Give this one a try and thank me later.

Purevivi Cleansing Lotion - IDR 335,000 (500ml)

Purevivi Cleansing Lotion is a very gentle cleansing lotion that is fragrance free, without added coloring, non-oil, paraben and alcohol free

Yes, you might be thinking what i am thinking - that it's kinda pricey. But remember, this huge bottle contains 500ml worth of product - that is a LOT of cleansing lotion and it will take you a while to use it off even if you use it everyday so i personally think this is a good invested anyway

Comes in a very fuss free, straight forward clear plastic bottle and a secure but easy to open flip cap

So if you're wondering what a Cleansing Lotion is supposed to be, it's a one step makeup remover and facial cleanser, think Micellar Water!

I do like this product too but i gotta be honest, i was expecting it to be like the cleansing sheet just in a different form and i personally still prefer the cleansing sheet's formula over the cleansing lotion. The cleansing lotion IS super gentle, maybe even gentler than the cleansing sheet because i struggle to remove my eye makeup with it. I actually use a different, bi-phase type of eye and lip makeup remover (unless i am using a Cleansing Sheet, i totally expect the cleansing sheet to completely remove everything) anyway so it doesn't really matter anyway, but i think it's important to point it out.

I would definitely recommend this for those of you especially that has sensitive skin and are looking for extra gentle, easy to use (just soak a cotton pad with the lotion and use, easy peasy!) cleansing lotion. It's more suitable for those of you who wears lighter makeup, it can definitely remove fuller, thicker makeup too - but you are going to be using quite a lot of cotton pads and spend some time to make sure everything's removed so if you are a more of a heavy makeup user, i suggest you to use a different eye and makeup remover first (like me) and use the cleansing lotion for the rest of the face (but please note that it's totally gentle enough to use around your eyes area. It's just that if you use waterproof mascara and eyeliner like me, you are going to have to struggle a bit and that is not ideal to tug and rub your eye area okay!). Still recommended tho!

Moving on to Alovivi products which contains moisturizing products

First Alovivi product that i am going to talk about is again, my favorite. It's their body lotion :

Alovivi Baby Milk Lotion (can be used by all humans, meaning you can use it on a baby and on yourself!) - IDR 225,000 (300ml)
Again the packaging is very simple and fuss free, it looks very classical and nostalgic in my opinion

It's a perfect body lotion for the whole family. It has is fragrance, coloring, alcohol and paraben free and contains Coix Lacryma-Jobiu var. Ma-Yuen seed extract

The texture is light but it's super moisturizing!

I didn't know what coix seed was before but now i know i love it in a body care! Alovivi Baby Milk Lotion is super gentle, gets absorbed into the skin easily and leave my skin smooth and silky without making it greasy or sticky - in short, it's my ideal body lotion! It has no added fragrance but the ingredient has a super soft, pleasant scent that i would love to smell on a baby!

I do have normal (body) skin but i also suffer from eczema and when i use a wrong body wash (usually the product contains a lot of detergent as i am allergic to detergent) i would have dry spots on my elbows - this lotion really helps! I also love even though it's deeply moisturizing, it's still super light, this is important as i live in a tropical country with super hot and humid climate.

Again, it is slightly pricey, but if you have sensitive skin and are looking for deeply moisturizing yet gentle body lotion (that you can share with everybody in your family), i highly recommend you giving this a try.

Next 2 products are actually the same product just in different variants so i am going to review them simultanously :

Alovivi Coix Seed Skin Balm - IDR 195,000 (25gr)

Alovivi Orange Skin Balm - IDR 195,000 (25gr)

I've never used (or even heard of) skin balms before so i was pretty confused on how to use it at first but basically it is a deep hydrating balm for dry and very dry skin that can be used on your face and body.

The Coix Seed skin balm has the same, simple but very pretty design as the Milk lotion

Mostly recommended to use on dry spots like elbows, hands, face and heels. It can even be used as a makeup base (but i wouldn't recommend it for oily skin!)

While the orange one has a more vibrant, slightly more modern design

As i have very oily facial skin and normal body skin, i typically don't use products that are too rich as they are not super suitable for my skin. As this product is targeted more for people with very dry skin (and it would also benefit you if you travel to cold countries on winter seasons), i only use them on my elbows, eczema ridden finger and even on my lips (i like using the Orange one as lip balm because of the scent). I personally find the texture to be the most similar to lip balms, maybe that's why i find it hard to use anywhere else because honestly it's very glossy and greasy, on my already hydrated skin it would just sit on top of the skin and make me uncomfortable while people with drier skin probably would enjoy it more as the balm would sink into their skin more?

The skin balm comes in a very cute (i just love the packaging so much hehe) tin jar

I think from the photo you can already tell that the texture is very balmy, glossy and greasy. I LOVE the scent of this coix seed one, it's very soft, calming and relaxing

Same thing as the Orange Balm

The Orange variant is enriched with Vitamin C and has a Fresh Tangering flavor. The scent is pretty strong but i don't find it offensive at all

In my own personal experience, it totally helps for rough, dry areas (which i don't really have a lot of) but it's just not a product i personally really need. I cannot even imagine using it on my (very oily) face hehe, but i know that people with very dry skin can have problem applying makeup to their face as the makeup won't stick, so i can imagine using this balm would help - but i cannot comment too much on this and if you do have very dry skin and want to know if it works well, i recommend you checking out my fellow Surabaya Beauty Blogger pals' reviews, i'm pretty sure there are some of them with dry skin problem and can give you better insight on this product.

I also think that i would definitely bring this next time i'm traveling in winter, my husband has very dry skin and his fingers and heels would crack and even bleed when it's that cold and i really think these skin balms would save his skin.

Alovivi All in One VC Gel - IDR 438,000 (80gr)

Alovivi VC Gel is actually also catered for dry skin but this one actually works well for my oily skin too ^^, it is the only product in this post that comes in a cardboard box

The actual product comes in an (glittery) orange jar with white top

Again, all information are in Japanese hehe but let me tell you why it's called All in One Gel, that's because it has 5 functions in one, it has the functionality of toner, emulsion, essence, cream and mask!

As it categorizes itself as a gel product, the texture is well, gel hehe. It is light and refreshing to use

So i have been using Alovivi VC-Gel for two whole weeks and it works super well on my skin (i also use it on husband's dry skin and it works just as well). It has a light, fresh, citrusy scent and as it's very light it gets absorbed into the skin fast without any trace of greasiness nor stickiness left. But even though it has a gel and therefore light texture, it deeply moisturizes and keeps my skin super hydrated, supple and healthy. I personally think this gel can be used by all skin types, judging on how it performs well on both husband's and my skin even though we have very different skin types (but ofc, with all skin care it's a trial and error, every skin is different so a product that works well on my skin might not always work on yours, and vice versa). I still use toner before using it, but it's very nice to know that you don't have to pile on emulsion, essence, etc and just use this one product if you want to.

So far it is performing superbly on my skin and i feel that my skin gets all the skin care it needs with just one product so ofc i am happy with it. Again, if you ask me if i think it's pricey? It is. But for an all in one product, i think that's totally reasonable as you don't even need to spend more money in any other products.

Last but not least, the one product that i kept on forgetting to take a picture with the others :

Alovivi Premium Face Mask - IDR 55,000

It's called a Premium Face Mask and i can feel it when i used it as it gives off a very luxurious feeling indeed.

The sheet is slightly too big for my face so it doesn't sit very well on my face (i think you can see it on the photo), the sheet is very sturdy but very soft and it has eye flaps so if you want, you can lie down and cover your eyes while use thing mask. I personally not someone who can stay still while using a face mask so, that is not gonna happen.

It has no fragrance and it feels cooling but soft on my skin. The cooling sensation is very gentle, there are sheet masks that has a cooling and tingling sensation - this one is different because the cooling sensation is not aggresive at all. The serum is very watery and like most watery essence with thick sheets, it makes sticking to the face a slight issue. Even though the essence is very watery, it is SUPER moisturizing, a little too rich for my oily skin that i have to rinse after usage as it's too sticky and makes me feel uncomfortable.

I wake up to a very hydrated, very mochi and supple skin but i actually think that this mask is better suited for people with drier skin as it is a bit too intense for me. Super good ofc, but definitely more recommended for dry to very dry skin type.

And that, my friend, is my complete experience with Purevivi and Alovivi products. I hope you stayed until the end, it is pretty long but i want to give you a detailed, in depth review as usual and i have a lot of products to cover :D.
