Fashion Collab 02 : Summer Breeze

OHMAHGERDD, bad blogger alert!!!

Took the photos like, in the beginning of summer and i haven't blogged about it until it's almost stale, all because of sheer laziness ofc >.<.

Before summer is gone, here is Aphrodites' second fashion collaboration :D!

Summer Breeze! Btw, i really hope Cynthian shaved her armpits back then *LOLOLOL*, she's notorious not to LOL!

We decided to be totally cliche and dress up in mandatory summery clothes hahaha.

All of our pics are taken at Vasa Hotel's gorgeous pool side, actually we planned to take photos in other spots but we got carried away at the pool :)), that's okay because we managed to get some gorgeous photos!

Taking pics outdoor during day light can result in such clear, gorgeous photos but they can be quite hell too obviously *LOL*. It was a very VERY sunny day but with some nice breeze so at least we weren't sweaty! I got a liiiiittle tan after that (that goes away within 2 days)-which i don't mind, but for the first time i can actually feel my skin get sunburnt and a little sensitive!

It's awesome how we have very distinct style that we all look so different but harmonized at the same time ^^

I have this chiffon floral dress for many many MANY years but i have never worn it (it still had the tag on before i decided to finally wear it for this photo shoot *LOL*), i think it's super pretty but i am not a fan of halter necks, i have such flat chest that halter necks tend to pull because the dress keeps on sliding down

I am thinking of selling it for a very low price, i should probably create a Carousel account or something, i'm just way too lazy *sigh*

I personally am a HUGE fan of floaty maxy and midi dresses, especially for holidays.. I am not a fan of pants (except those wideeee legged ones) and floaty dresses are super comfortable-but still stylish and pretty!

Did a bit of beauty shoots too ^^. I'm wearing F2fF's XOXO Matte Lipstick in #03 Dark Choco as a lip tint using the Korean gradient lips technique

Completed the look with a wicker bag that i have no idea where i got it from. I'm pretty sure it's not even something that i bought *LOL*. Could it be a packaging from a drink parcel or something? LOL

June Movies

Hey guys!

I better get my reviews up before July slips by!

Only watched four movies in June, 2 are okay, 1 is a bit disappointing and the other 1 is a total snoozeville!

Let us begin!

1. Wonder Woman

I'm pretty sure EEEEVERYBODY watched this. I mean, it's probably one of the most anticipated super heroes movies in years. I'm personally quite excited for this one because one, the hero is a female - and two, she totally stole the show in Batman VS Superman so it is very exciting to learn more about her. I , however, am not one of those who has a woman crush on Gal Gadot. Sure, i do think she's super hot and gorgeous, but she's just not my cup of tea. I think she's a real badass and i like her a lot tho!

So the movie took us from the very beginning, when Wonder Woman was Diana (well. Not that she isn't anymore, but i assume you know what i mean!)-princess of the Amazons who didn't really know who she really was. She is raised in a sheltered and shielded island paradise, away from modern world in a community made entirely of female warriors when one day a (super hot, KYAAAAA!!! Chris Pine who is so fine!) pilot crashes on their shore and tells them about the crazy war in the outside world. Diana is convinced that she can stop the war, decided to leave her home and join the pilot in the war- manages to fall in love with him on the process.

Before we went to watch it, we got mixed reviews from friends who already watched it-some says it's cool, some says it's a total snoozeville. I personally enjoyed the movie, i don't think it's mind blowing or whatever, but i think it's pretty solid. I am probably coddled by the mere presence of Chris Pine (who can probably make any movie endurable for me with his blue blue eyes...), damn disappointed when his character dies and leaves Diana all broken hearted-but what else can you expect when you're an immmortal and you fall in love with a weak mortal? LOL. Hunny commented on how the effect was pretty bad in the final war scene, i didn't notice. I like this one although it didn't leave any strong impression on me or whatever, but it's a good popcorn, superhero movie.

2. The Mummy

Now, this one receives mostly unfavorable reviews and rated quite badly in IMDb, but i actually like it! Again, i am probably biased by the forever-handsome-no-matter-how-old-he-gets Tom Cruise, but think the movie is not bad at all! It's totally entertaining and i don't really understand why it gets such a bad review. Granted, i am not a fan of the original-so maybe i can accept the fact that it's different from the original's style, but if you're a huge fan on the original-then maybe you won't be able to accept this one?

Ahmanet is the typical woman scorned (although not by her lover but by her father instead) Egyptian princess from bygone era who decided to sell her soul to the devil for revenge-she is fortunately captured and entombed in a crypt deep beneath the desert before she could do any more damage-until Nick Morton (a cheeky, playboy soldier of fortune) accidentally release her and all hell breaks loose.

To be quite honest with you, i can't even remember what the original Mummy movies were all about. Hmph. 2017 Mummy is quite dark in sections (it resembles a horror movie in a few short scenes, i was worried about Little O!), although the Ahmanet mummy turned out to be quite silly and not quite so scary after a while, i really don't think it's that bad at all! I'm not sure i approve of the whole Dr. Jekyll suddenly appeared in the middle of it all, but overall i still totally enjoyed it! I dunno, maybe i have weird, shallow taste-but if you do too, give this a try, you might enjoy it like i did haha.

3. Transformers : The Last Knight

This one. Oh my oh my oh my. I am never a fan of Transformers movies, but at least i didn't feel like super bored or whatever while waching the previous movies-i can't say the same with this one! And i know for a fact that even among their die hard fans, there are some disappointments. I knew i wasn't going to love it, but i didn't think that it was gonna be so... bad *LOL*.

Years from the previous movies, the Autobots are no longer considered heroes on earth, instead they're hunted and treated as criminals-and Optimus Prime is not around because he went to look for his dead planet, Cybertron. He finds it and told that he is the reason that the planet is dead and the only way to bring it back to life is to take life from earth.

Yeah well, i thought it was totally all over the place. So damn slow and i got so bored out of my wits. I kept on losing track of the *barely there* storyline and i simply couldn't care less about what's happening to the people on screen anymore. I normally like Mark Wahlberg quite a lot, but this time round even he cannot make this dull movie acceptable. I dunno, i know most people who watches it share my sentiments, what about you?

4. Jailangkung

The poster, the trailer, all the promotional props are so promising, i was totally looking forward to Jailangkung 2017-hoping that it would revive the horror movie scene in Indonesia like how the original Jailangkung did. Sadly, it fell way below my expectations. It's not super horrible or whatever, but it's not ineteresting or scary for me.

A rich entrepreneur is found unconscious, his vital signs are good and he is actually in good health, he's just incapable of waking up. His two grown daughters are doing whatever they can to wake him up, they're desperate enough to start looking into the supernatural because there's simply no scientific reason that they can find. With the help of a guy (who def has a thing for the second daughter) who has a little supernatural knowledge, they decided to go to the mysterious house in a private island where their father was found.

Yeah well... It totally lack the originality and freshness that the 2001 Jailangkung had. The storyline is all over the place, quite ridiculous and laughable. There's so much plot holes that you lost count and i kept on thinking of how the first daughter looks old enough to be the mother instead, especially when compared to the elementary age third daughter. It's such a shame because it has the potential to be good, it was just... not. I (who's a huge horror fan and watch countless horror movies from all over the world on a daily basis) actually think that the special effect and ghost makeups are getting so SO good. Dare i say, almost as good as Thai horrors? Unfortunately, that's all that's good here.

I just can't stand the scenes where the characters are supposed to be thrown away by unseen forces, they look as bad as sinetron quality, i cringe whenever it happens (yes, multiple times). The characters keeps on doing silly things (silly even for horror movie standards)-and there are so many unexplained things left hanging (how did the third daughter suddenly got pregnant with the demon child? I realized she might be raped by the tall figure. But what is that tall figure and where did it come from?? When did it came into the equation in the first place??? What it's got to do with the central ghost???), and how they make the character connections so poor, it's confusing.

Overall, i was pretty disappointed coming out from the cinema, i'd rather rewatch Danur, at least that one has a good, understandable, relatable story line! Am not recommending this one at all.

Anyway, that's all for this month. It's almost August, which means i need to write about July movies fairly soon too.

Japan Trip 2017 : Part 2 (Kanazawa)

Helloooo!!!

Can you tell i'm warming up and picking up speed on my Japan posts, onto the next destination : Kanazawa!

Since i'm a lot less cam-whorish in this second visit to Japan, i realize that my photos (except for a few spots) are shittier than last time? Apparently Oppo doesn't work all that fantastic when it's getting dark in winter!

On our fourth day in Japan, we took a Shinkazen to Kanazawa!

Ran here and there like crazy people just to pose with fast passing Shinkazens >.<

I just realized that when we travel with Little O, i tend to look shittier *LOLOLOL*. Mainly because i'd have less time to get ready, must help him get ready and all. I can only imagine if we ever have a second child and we travel with them both, i'm never gonna be decent enough for cameras then!

While we're at the subject of food, let me insert photos of these cute Japanese cakes (i think they're called wagashi) shaped like Chinese horoscopes that i got just because of the shapes

And then we arrived at the quaint Kanazawa!

Our hotel's not far from the station so we just walked there. I really love long walks in winter! Although i enjoyed it a little less the first few days in Japan because apparently i have a sharp nail growing into my flesh on my big toe although i already cut my nails really short! I finally give the sides a brutal trim and then i can walk without throbbing pain on my toe T.T.

Btw in case you're wondering about the suitcases, since we are staying for almost 2 weeks in Japan (during winter some more), we did have quite a LOT of luggages (seeing that our group consists of 3 families and a single traveler)-CL discovered a more efficient way to send our luggage using Yamato (a Japanese shipping company) to the next city where we stayed for pretty long. FYI, it's not cheap. A big luggage would cost you probably almost IDR 500k from Tokyo to Osaka, but in the end it's worth it if you take public transportations like us coz lugging heavy suitcases from city to city would be hellish! I also learned that i need to pack even lighter for winter trips to multiple cities-i thought i already was, but now i know i wasn't.

The city is so different than Tokyo and i immediately like it a lot!

I guess i like smaller, quieter cities for the most part

So quintessentially Japan ^^

We stayed in My Stays hotel in Kanazawa, it's a very very nice, simple hotel-with enough space so we didn't have to fall all over each other like we did in the first hotel in Tokyo haha. I did take a bit of pics of the hotel's lobby but weirdly they all turned out very blurry, like... VERY blurry! And i forgot to snap pics of the hotel's room too -___-.

After checking in, we decided to go explore Kanazawa immediately

Little that we know that most places in Kanazawa was also still closed due to holiday T.T

We discovered very ol' skool Japanese houses too photogenic to pass on.

So we began posing in front of people's houses :p

Then we head to Omicho Market where sadly most of the stores and restaurants were closed :(...

Kanazawa is very well known for their seafood!

Ready for lunch... Well, i wasn't. I was still very full from the bento so i just had a taste of everything *LOL*. I did take photos of everybody's food tho!

Unfortunately i have no idea what the food actually are

Er. Fried something over rice

The others ordered sashimi and they said it's crazy fresh (i cannot eat raw things, i already tried. I can't), yummy and they're so cheappp! Btw sashimi in Kanazawa is crazy cheap... Especially if you compare with Indonesian' price at Sushi Tei or whatever, with superior quality some more!

I remember this is hunny's order, it's Unagi! I'm not normally a fan of unagi, but even i seriously think this is soooo good!

We then head to... I think it was Kanazawa Castle Park, but we stepped off the bus directly at the temple very close to it. Unfortunately i have no idea what the temple's name is and i also cannot find it online >.<, if anyone knows please let me know in the comment box below!

Bought lucky charms because we're kiasu Chinese who cannot resist getting anything that promises good fortune and luck :)))

I think those are wishing papers? Or maybe fortune papers, because i heard that in some temples if you get a good prophecy, you take the paper home but if you get a bad one, you leave it at the temple so it can be cast away

We copy without a fail :)))) although we had no idea if it's supposed to do anything or not. The grandpa over there keeps on laughing and talking to us in Japanese, obviously we had no idea what he was talking about. He might called us idiots for all i know :)))

I see these pics and i miss Japan again. I do want to explore more prefectures. Maybe after i get over my trauma

It's getting dark

So we head to the Kanazawa Castle (i'm pretty sure it is the Kanazawa Castle, OMG i am so bad *LOL*. I lost the itinerary and i'm too lazy to check with CL >.<) because CL heard that it's especially beautiful at night when all of the lights are lit

Thing is, we soon realized that the park is already closed WTF >.< and the lights would only begin in Spring -____-

SO it was yet another fail *LOLOLOL*.

Seriously though guys, if you want to go to Japan and visit touristy spots, i would avoid the new year :(

It was not that late and places are closing already so we ended up in a mall *LOLOLOL*. I had a little scare because we thought Little O was missing, apparently he snuck away with H without telling us. OMG. I had my attention sifted for a minute and he just disappeared. Scared d shizz out of me.

Anyway, we ended up trying out the famous fluffy pancakes at Gram.

Then we head back to our hotel (which has onsen) and i ended up going to onsen again despite my resolve never to do it again -___-. It was nice actually. And we had some crazy laugh when H genuinely almost walked into the female onsen *LOLOLOL*.
