How's everybody doin' in this wet and rainy season (it's actually cold in Surabaya right now so i'm guessing it must be much colder in other parts of the world!). Has the weather changes mess with your skin? It sure does mine! Thankfully all the craziness that the changing weather doing to my skin is minimized by my lovely current skin care routine from Clinelle WhitenUp series!

If you are a follower of this blog then you'd know that i am no stranger to Clinelle. I have tried and reviewed two of their other skin care lines before (you can read my Clinelle PureSwiss Hydracalm review here and also Clinelle Caviar Gold review here) and in general, they products are really good, high quality and kind to my skin so when i got the chance to try this new line out, of course i jumped on the chance happily ^^.

Before we go into details onto the products one by one, let me refresh your memory on why Clinelle products are all super good : their concept is "7 Secrets to the Happy Skin with 7 No's" - so all of their products contains none of these 7 dangerous ingredients :
1. No artificial coloring
2. No artificial scent
3. No lanolin
4. No mineral oil
5. No SD-Alcohol
6. No comedoegenic ingredients

Now, we all know that sunlight is the main source of UV rays (fun fact : UV rays continue to damage your skin for more than 4 hours after exposure...) that causes premature aging skin (which appears in forms of dark spots, pigmentation, uneven tone and dull skin) but do you know that according to a study published in the American Academy of Dermatology, electronic devices are also capable of emitting UV rays too?? Heh what??? Omo omo, NOOOOO.... But yes, it's true. Electronic gadgets (oh you evil computers!!!) emit low UV rays which will cause cumulative damage to our skin over time T.T (yep, indoor UV means our exposure to UV rays are increased by 85%!). That means our skin is continuously exposed to UV rays regardless - whether we stay indoor or outdoor. Yeah, reality check here...

Clinelle WhitenUp series has this fresh, citrusy scent that is very uplifting and refreshing - including the cleanser. It is very pleasant and gentle on my skin, but able to cleanse thoroughly without leaving my skin feeling tight or dried out. It works very well on both my oily skin (my skin is oily but slightly dehydrated lately) and also on hunny's sensitive, dry skin - so i am confident to say that this cleanser is fab and suitable for most skin types.

Okay so the packaging of this toner alone is enough to win me over. I LOVE toners that come in a spray bottle form because it just makes everything so much more practical! Yes, i admit, i am lazy okay, anything that makes my skin care routine faster, i appreciate!
The Clinelle WhitenUp toner is again, very gentle and pleasant to use. I always look forward to spray it generously to my skin after i wash my face (pat the excess into skin). It never stings even if i got an open acne scar or anything, that's how gentle it is - and it's also very moisturizing. I admit, sometimes i would go about with whatever i am doing and forget to add more moisturizer just because my skin already feels so good and hydrated after using only the toner! The toner is quite possibly my fave product out of the line! Not only it brighten skin tone and clarity, soothes and hydrate skin with 6 essential oils, it also works to refine pores and tone skin. Don't skip toner because it helps to improve the absorption of subsequent products!
Third step is serum!

Clinelle WhitenUp Serum is a highly concentrated serum for fast and effective brightening result. It prevents and lighten pigmentation, improve overall dull skin and even out skin tone, promote skin radiance and brighten - also makes skin firmer and lifted.
It is no secret that i can't use serum and day or night cream together because my super oily skin would react in white heads from the richness, so for me i alternate using the serum and night cream every other day. I did try to layer them but it does feel a bit too moisturizing for my skin type so i find alternating them works better. I truly love the serum tho (i love all of Clinelle's serum, their Caviar Gold one i the only serum that i've used until the very last drop!), it really makes my skin feels super mochi like, firmer and hydrated without making my skin oilier than it already is. Another fave!
Step four is the spot correcter essence :

The high potency spot corrector essence works to visibly reduce pigmentation, lighten dark spots and scars, also to reduce discoloration and improve skin tone.
I personally think that it takes time to lighten up dark spots (and it should. Products that lighten skin up overnight most probably contains something harmful!) and i also don't really have a lot of dark spots to try them on. But during my trial of this line, i did get a few new acne scars (period happens, you know!) and i took the chance to try out the spot corrector essence and i must say that i notice it helps those scars to fade away much faster than when i normally let them be!
Now onto the last step for day time:

It also works well under makeup and doesn't make my makeup melt or become a greasy mess any faster than normal, in fact it makes base makeup application a breeze because it makes my skin hydrated and smooth |

I am normally not a fan of night creams (if i have a serum in my skin care line, i would much prefer to use the serum and skip the night cream) but this one is a total exception. Is it not heavy or sticky like how most night creams can be, and when i use it - i wake up with hydrated skin but without the super sticky, heavy feeling - which is awesome of course!
Like i mentioned earlier, in Clinelle Brightening Night Cream there is an extra ingredient, making it one of the hero products of the line. My skin stays fair and bright, even after being exposed to super strong Bali sun for almost a week. I didn't get any negative experience with any of the products, in fact i personally think it works very very well for my skin. It also helps my skin to behave, and didn't go crazy like how it can be when i travel. I did get a few breakout due to PMS, but it is to be expected and not aggravated from the use of the line at all - so yeah, i definitely had a pleasant experience with this line and have nothing but praises for them!
Would highly recommend everybody to try out this line, now that we know that we can't escape UV rays even if you are a hermit who prefer to stay indoor at all times haha!
