Don't Lie!

Out of the blue tiba-tiba kepingin nulis pake Bahasa Indonesia. Sebenernya out of the blue kepingin nulis aja udah aneh (I hear #Pink rejoices somewhere LOL), ini malah kepingin nulis IN BAHASA INDONESIA... Hahaha... Oh well, kalo katanya #Pink, bukan #Undecided kalo gak antik, so living up to her words, here goes...

Kalo kemarin sudah sempet nulis soal pet peeve yang dog-related, sekarang mau nulis sesuatu yang suka bikin sebel, tapi hubungannya sama manusia.

I hate liars. Tukang bohong. Orang yang omongannya selalu ga sesuai sama realita, and personally, kejengkelan gue ini spesifik ke orang-orang yang suka bohong lebay demi kelihatan wah.

Ugh, where do I even begin...

Masalahnya adalah, ada satu manusia (yang karena suatu hal jadi harus sering ketemu), and dia itu the epitome of a liar. Pinter banget muter balik omongan. Pinter banget ngarang omongan on the spot!

Well, to be fair, gue juga lumayan pinter bohong *ahem*. Karena tuntutan pekerjaan sih. Posisi customer service kan memang harus pandai-pandai mencari alasan untuk menyelamatkan muka perusahaan (dan pantat bagian produksi). So, okay lah, I am forced to tolerate lying here and there, but I do everything in my power to keep it "professional". Maksudnya sih bohong untuk urusan kerjaan aja.

Jadi, ketika gue harus sering berinteraksi dengan manusia satu ini, lama kelamaan sih eneg juga ya... Bukan karena apa, kebohongannya itu udah mulai pada kebuka. Meskipun orangnya masih belum sadar juga. Lucu juga sih ngeliat dianya bohong-bohong-bohong dan bohong padahal kita-kita ini udah pada ngerti aslinya dia seperti apa...

Pathological liar kayak dia itu sebenernya kasihan... Sekali bohong itu harus ditutupin dengan kebohongan-kebohongan lainnya kan... Apa gak ribet yak hidup seperti itu?! Tapi setelah mikir kasihan, trus keinget kelakuannya yang nyebelin abis, jadi males juga sih buat mengasihani (OMG excuse my redundancy!!)

And to make matters worse, selain suka bohong, orang ini gampang sekali dibohongin orang lain (yes, not very bright, I know -_____-) Ini bukti sih... Bukti kalo jaman sekarang karma itu kembalinya gak pake lama... Sering banget dia ketipu ini, ketipu itu, and buntut-buntutnya always merugi (and mind you, not in a small amount!), but every single time, bukannya belajar dari kesalahan, dia bakal bohong lebih jaoh lagi untuk menutupi kebegoannya...

Seriously, ADA LOH ORANG YANG KAYA GINI!!!

AND KENAPA SIH HARUS KENAL GUE JUGA?!

Grrrrrrrrrr....

So long story short, sebenernya tujuan dari blogpost ini sih semacam venting aja sih. Sama cuma mau reminding myself to reflect on this and be smarter next time around new people karena semakin gede omongan seseorang, biasanya sih semakin kosong aja tuh isinya dia (yes, both kepala and kantong hahahaha...)

And oh, sama satu lagi. To remind all of us (yes, me included obviously) soal pentingnya BERSYUKUR... Ini penting banget lo... Afterall, menurut The Secret, apa yang selalu ada di pikiran kita itu yang akan balik ke kita. Berkali-kali-lipat! So, if we're always grateful, kita bakalan diberi banyak-banyak hal lagi untuk disyukuri kan!

Bukti bahwa The Secret itu beneran! (ATAS: pas awal-awal denger Cesar Millan bakal ada show di Jakarta, gue mulai nulis "I will meet and interact with Cesar Millan on his show in Jakarta this April" 10x per hari, setiap hari sampe gue percaya bahwa gue bakal beneran ketemu dia. BAWAH: gue BENERAN ketemu dia!!! How? Menang tiket meet and greet dari some quiz gitu.) See, Affirmation Works!!

But I digress...

So you might wonder gimana kelanjutan orang itu?

Well... Karena kita semua akhirnya (setelah berbulan-bulan berusaha menyelamatkan dia dari dirinya sendiri!!!) udah tahu dia itu orangnya macem apa, sekarang kita lagi rame-rame bersenang-senang ngelihatin dia bohong sana sini. Ngelihatin dia boasting-boasting. Ngelihatin dia spends money that he doesn't have on stuff that he doesn't need. Percaya aja, in the end kan dianya sendiri yang bakal kapok. Kalaupun kaga kapok, dilihat saja mau sampai kapan he can keep this up karena karma itu gak buta, dan tagihan kartu kredit gak pernah telat tiap bulannya.

So, like Fergie says,

VanityTrove Mozaic Exclusive Trove

Hi hi!

I just had a very full but fun day! I don't often have such a jam-packed day, and people say they're jealous of how relaxed my life is, but trust me-i love busy days! I feel less useless on a day like this *LOL*. Anyway, blog post about today (a beauty event followed by a joint bday dinner of two of my friends) will come up soon, let's focus on the topic written on the title for now!

Remember i used to say i never really had much luck with lucky draws and its friends? Well, it seems like my luck in that department has shifted a little bit :p. I win (not much but a little bit's better than never, right?) more and more quizzes and giveaways, which is AWESOME! One of them is Vanity Trove's 7 Days Christmas Giveaway. I was really surprised when i was announced as one of the winners because honestly i didn't even remember entering it *LOL*.

Anyway, my price was IDR 100.000 worth of Vanity tab that i could use to purchase their troves/products. I've been hoarding it for MONTHS because sadly their self-customized trove's items seems to be pretty... sparse (and repetitive. Like, there'd be 5 items from the same brand at one time. And there'd be only three or so brands at one time with all super boring items like face creams *YAWNS*) and i didn't see anything i really wanted to purchase from their online shop as well.

And then about a week ago i read some blogger's unboxing of this special Mozaic Exclusive Trove and it seems pretty nice, so i hurriedly checked their sites and couldn't believe my eyes that this exclusive trove's priced at only IDR 100.000 (their regular trove's IDR 180.000)! I quickly clicked add to my cart (i am ecstatic that i do not have to pay a dime for this box!) and viola, here it is! (Arrived at a speedy time too! I ordered this much latter than the time when i redeemed my Lola Dots for a complimentary box, which still shows no sign of appearing, almost three weeks after they promised to send me the box *LOL*. Lola Box is usually very punctual though so i'm pretty confused...)

First item : Lux Moisturizing Body Wash in Velvet Touch (250 ml)

I actually couldn't use the original Lux body washes anymore, my skin got more sensitive (from age, i guess *___*) somehow and a lot of body wash/shower gel/cream can cause my eczema to act up, muyhunny also cannot use lots of body thingy due to his uber dry skin. But i've been reading rave reviews about this new Lux Body Wash, they apparently bettered their formulation and the result is much milder and moisturizing body washes. I am actually quite excited to try this (without having to purchase it myself) and prove if this new body wash really is much better than their predecessor.

Skin 79 Hot Pink Super+ Triple Functions BB (deluxe size) and 3 sachets of other Skin 79 BB Cream (Super+ Triple Functions BB Vital Cream Orange Label, VIP Gold Collection Super+ BB Cream and The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus)

As a BB cream junkie, i always love getting BB Cream samples. I am not a fan of sachet samples, but since they gave out a decent deluxe sample (which i really love because they are super convenient for my travels) and the sachets must be bonuses, i don't mind. Skin 79 is one of the nicest BB cream i've ever tried too, so... I have nothing but love for them!

Cottage Softening Shower Gel in Vanilla (50ml)

Seriously, Cottage (and Original Source) tiny bottles are the cutest ever! This is my second travel size Cottage shower gel (both are from beauty boxes) and i am really happy that i got different variants! I love bath and body cares and this tiny bottle will be going on a trip with me!

Dove Anti Perspirant Whitening Deodorant in Original (15 ml)

I wear deodorants whenever i go out so this one is a very useful thing that will definitely get used. I am a fan of Dove products, however for this particular product... I am not overly fond of. I am currently using this deodorant and i hate that it takes FOREVER to dry! But it's still usable even though it's my least favorite item in this box.

Angelwinks falsies in Honey

Gosh it's been so long since the last time i received falsies in beauty boxes! I used to detest getting them (because i never used them before) until one day i decided to try them on and i've been hooked ever since. Having said that, i haven't been wearing any falsies for a very very long time! LOL. I should start practicing again! I've never tried Angelwinks falsies (honestly i almost never bought falsies by myself except once from Sasa when it was on a huge sale and from Daiso/cheapo accessories stores! I built a little collection from past beauty boxes only haha) and am pretty excited about this!

Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo (65 ml)

The most branded and (definitely) expensive item in this trove! I love Kiehl even though i haven't actually purchased anything from them (my hunny's insisting on buying their deodorant though, even though i find paying almost IDR 300.000 for a deodorant is a total insanity...) but i have lots of their samples *LOL* *cheapo* and i can safely say i love those products that i've tried the samples on. This size is perfect for traveling! Honestly i fear this shampoo would be too rich for my oily scalp (the nourishing part) but i'm sure it'll work well on hunny!

And that's it! Personally i find this to be a pretty great box, especially for the price (IDR 100.000 or about USD 9!). I paid more in the past for boxes that are not half as good as this one! Everything in this box is really useful and i get to try lots of items that i am interested in!

This box is still available in their website, if you're interested in them (i am highly recommending this box, i believe its worth more than the price! I mean... The Kiehl's shampoo alone would worth quite a lot!) you better hurry and order them now, there's a "selling fast" label on the box which means it might get out of stock soon!

Life's Trick #2: How To Properly Meet a Dog and Their Owner(s)

Hello people!

It's the 2nd edition of my Life's Trick series (yes I know, it's been a while, but you can read the 1st installment here), and once again it's about DOGS.

Because if #Pink's world revolves around pretty pink things, mine revolves around these two.

You know, one of my pet peeves is when I'm walking my dogs, some strangers would walk up to us, start cooing and mindlessly caressing their heads. Okay I get it, my babies are gorgeous, but how would you like it if I come up to you and start touching your head out of admiration? You'd be pissed, right?

Right!

Well, why would you think it's any different for a dog?

In dog's world, they identify others by scent. So when your dog sniffs some other dog's butts and vice versa, they actually are "shaking hands"...

No need to panic and start pulling on the leashes to stop em, just pay close attention in case one dog tries to dominate the other one (2 males meeting and one tries to dominate will result in a fight for sure!)

So how do a human meet a dog?

By letting the dog uses their nose (I'm putting what I learnt from Cesar's show to good use here, yay me!) and sniff you. In dog's world, it's NOSE, EYES, and then the last one, EARS, so no need to call their names or whatever, just let them sniff your hand. And that's it.

Put your hand in front of his nose. Let him sniff ya. Don't panic or back away when they do this for they just want to identify your scent. Jerome was quite baffled when I shoved him my hand (ACT, JEROME ACT!!) for he knows my scent by heart by now hehehe...

Once the hand is sniffed, caress their NECK.

People have this misconception (that is passed from generation to generation) that dog loves it when we pet their heads. Well sure if you've known them forever, but not when you first meet them. You might notice how a dog would pull their head back when someone tries to touch them. When your dog does this, don't scold them. But instead remind the human that they're being disrespectful towards your dog.

This is NOT how you pet a dog when you first meet them. Sure Jerome didn't mind my hand. But obviously not some stranger's hand no...

It's simple really, but what I've been saying here applies when you're meeting a BALANCED dog.

Balanced dog: relaxed stance, ears back.

LOL I have no words for this pose hahahaha...

HOWEVER, when you're in front of a dog that is staring at you intently; or barking ferociously, (if you don't have experience handling unbalanced dogs) it's advisable to consult the owner first about how to approach their dogs.

Okay?

Moving on!!

2nd pet peeve of the day is some stranger telling me that something is wrong with my dogs.

Example (this is a true story which just happened last week FML): Hubby and I were hanging out with Jerome and Ellis minding our own business then one uncle approached us. This is how the convo went down:

Uncle: "Wow what a big dog *pointing to Jerome* How old is he?"
Hubs: "He's one and a half year old *smiles*"
Uncle: "Ah... so young yet so big leh" (why am I picturing him speaking in Singlish accent!??! LOL)
Hubs: *smiles*
Uncle: "But he's quite short yea?!"
Me: "No uncle, he's around 65cm tall which is the maximum height for GSD's standard. If he's even taller than he is now, he won't be eligible to compete in dog shows."
Uncle: "My friend has this GSD and he's massive! Much taller than yours, yet won so many awards la!!"
Me: *irritated because I know for sure that the friend does not exist* "Ooo..."
Uncle: *clearly missing my disinterested tone* "And his hind legs - why not straight leh - looks odd"

GOODNESS GRACIOUS WHICH GSD HAS STRAIGHT HIND LEGS!??!?! AND IS TALLER THAN JEROME.. AND HAS WON SO MANY AWARDS!?!

Note: like I said above, there's a height limitation for a GSD to compete in dog shows. And Jerome is right on the limit (thank heavens he's no longer growing!!). If a dog is taller than him, he would be disqualified from the dog show for being too tall!

This is how a GSD's hind legs should look - not straight as his front legs!

Hubs: *disinterested tone, staring at me intently to stop me from saying something mean to the uncle* "Oh that's normal for GSD - the sharper the angle, the better"
Uncle: "so weird leh"
WEIRD YOUR HEAD, UNCLE!!

Then he continued to look at Ellis.
Uncle: "That's a Golden Retriever, right?"
Me: "No, that's a sheep"

KIDDING!!! I DID NOT SAY THAT LOL. I said, "yep..."

Uncle: "How come the coat is so short?"

Seriously uncle, I barely know you, but you're balding, would you like me to point that out to your face?!

And no, Ellis' coat is not short!

People, for some people dogs are like their own kids. Please do not insult them. If we want your opinion, we would ask. If not, please keep your comments to yourself (unless of course it's "oh they're so cute" and the likes then it's okay to utter them LOL). For me personally, I have no interest in discussing my babies with someone that clearly doesn't understand dogs, and trust me, two lines into the conversation I would know whether you do or don't...

If you don't have anything nice to say, you are more than welcomed to pet my dogs, but don't be offended if I'm correcting you (in case you pet them the wrong way) because:
1/ I love my dogs and I don't want them to be disrespected (comments that say "but they're just dogs, you're exaggerating" will be deleted, so don't bother!).
2/ I don't want you to be bitten. Sure Jerome and Ellis are balanced and (most of the times) they wouldn't mind, but other dogs might not be so forgiving...

So to sum it up. Please just have some respect. It's very simple... Put it this way: to you they might be just dogs, but to their owner, they might mean the world.

G's Bday Dinner

Hi guyssss :D

It's another very backdated joint post today, and this is #Pink saying hello! We're sharing the story of our other BFF, G's birthday! Her birthday is on 27th April (so proud that i can actually get the date right! Even though it doesn't really help because exactly the day before her bday she actually accompanied me to Miracle's Event and she was complaining about her hubby making a plan to go supervise cleaning services at their new home "I planned on spending the day going out to the mall with my mum. It's my birthday after all..." and i went completely white. OMG, it's your bday tomorrow???? And yes, she scolded me of course hahaha) but as usual, the bday dinner's postponed-just a week later this time. We're having Chinese food dinner that night at Moi Restaurant.

The girls, because like i always said : we're all that matters HAHAHAHAHA

Are #Undecided and i's outfits remind you of another post? This dinner was held at the same day as out Miracle Aesthetic Clinic's tour (OMG, how come everything is related to Miracle in this post LOL) and #Undecided wore the exact same outfit while i only changed out of my yellow trousers to a high low ombre skirt! I also look more human in the pictures because i finally washed my hair *LOLOLOL* and put on some make up so i look less pale!

I was very late because G is a scarily early person and she had the bday dinner at 6 (who eats at 6??? Okay maybe you should, but that's too early for me!) and i left my house at 6 LOLOLOL. The street in front of the restaurant was crazy packed and we were stuck in the car for a LONG time. When i finally reached around 6.45 everybody's sitting quietly and had finished eating WTF LOLOLOL. Awkward. And yet #Undecided and her hubby didn't show up anytime soon! We were late, and they were LATE (in a completely different league). Anyway, obviously all the food had been ransacked LOLOLOL so i couldn't take pics :p

Btw, HELLO!! #Undecided here. And yes, I have some explaining to do. Earlier that day our dogs had their first swimming lessons. Ellis went first, everything went smoothly.

Proof!!

Enter Jerome. LOL. He was petrified by the pool! So funny... But then using a ball hubby tried to get him to warm up to the pool. Looking at the ball he got excited and to everyone's surprise, jumped headfirst into the water, swam frantically towards hubby and grabbed the ball from him *smh*. Yes, with his muzzle (how else!?), and scratched hubby's middle finger. It was quite bad. Jerome and his teeth... He's a fully grown German Shepherd after all...

Long story short, before we left for the resto I was busy changing hubby's bandages. And believe me, it sounds simpler than the actual task. The tear was quite long so I had to use 2 (normal sized) bandages, and yes, some of the adhesive stuck right on the open wound, so I needed to do it ever so gently or else I'd tug on.. Argh!! I'll skip the gory details and continue to G's birthday dinner, I'm sure you'll agree!!!

Anyway, when we got there, everybody had finished eating LOL. So while waiting for our (additional) dishes to arrive, group pic first!

It's the golden bracelet! LOL. We all pitched in as usual and the hubby topped up the rest.

Speaking of bday pressie, #Undecided announced a few months ago that she wants a Furbie. LOL. So i also announced my bday pressie request (even though my bday's 5 months from now), i want a tyedye Skechers sneakers! While i am a very consistent person (as long as the sneakers' still available then i wouldn't be changing my mind), #Undecided is anything but. She seems to still want the furbie though, it must be some sort of miracle. Or have you changed your mind by now, BB?
Nope, I still want a Furby, bb... The color on the other hand... Sigh... All of them are so cute, how does one choose?!

#Pink (who's disguised herself as #Blue for the day...) and the bday girl. You know #Undecided's my BFF right, G is my BFF too but we have a completely different kind of relationship. G and i, we're more lovey dovey LOL, we hold hands and sometimes talk romantically to each other (as a joke) LOLOLOL. We're very straight though, obvi!
