Heelloo helloooo!
Maybe (or maybe not!) you've noticed that i totally rekindled my love for mascaras lately and i almost totally abandoned my falsies nowadays *LOL* (i am honestly such a creature of habit, once i get used and comfortable with one thing, i would abandon my previous love >.<), thanks to the Etude lash serum that made my lash grew and in turn, made me regained my confidence of my previously super short and thin lashes.
Alas, we are not here to promote the serum (sadly Charis no longer carries/have no stock of the serum anymore so there's no use in me promoting anyway HAHAHA) but i wanna rave about my current FAVE mascaras!
They come from a Korean brand called Belgleam. Honestly, i've never heard of the brand before and probably wouldn't dicover them if not for Charis (i really LOVE how Charis brought and introduce us to Korean beauty brands that we wouldn't otherwise be familiar with in Indonesia!), but boy did i immediately fell in love or what!
Belgleam Rich Volume and Rich Curling Fixcara |
Lemme tell you first that i am pretty fussy when it comes to mascara (when i wear them on their own. I don't care so much if i'm wearing falsies) so in order for a mascara to impress me, they need to have these traits : easy to apply, have nice sized brush (i just discover recently that i hate those huge sized brush as they don't work for my smaller Asian eyes, the brush would find a way to bump into my skin no matter how careful i am being, it's darn frustrating!), just right formula (not too wet, not too dry. Dry fast so it wouldn't smudge when i blink), able to darken and volumize my thin lashes, and most importantly : able to hold curls all day long without smudging or transferring. All these traits i found in both variants of Belgleam mascaras (or, as they call it : Fixcaras) plus another trait that i didn't even know matter when it comes to mascaras : Uber pretty packaging *LOL*.
Comes in a metallic unicartons with the same shade as each variant. Blue for Rich Volume and Pink for Rich Curling |
Look.At.The.Packaging Aren't they pweetttttyyyy? I luveee them, subtle yet reminds me of Mermaids, Unicorns and other fairytale characters that i lurveee |
Imma be honest with you, with most mascaras when they have different variants like these, i would usually struggle to find the difference as they mostly are very similar. But not these two, i immediately recognize the distinguished difference effects they gave!
The rich volume fixcara wand shape, i don't know what it's called and how to describe it so... please just look at the picture hahaha. Result of Belgleam Rich Volume Fixcara (1 coat) |
As you can see from the pictures, the Rich Volume really gives extra volume and amplified my lashes with only one coat. It hugs and clumps lashes in the right way to give that extra, dolly effect. This is honestly the typical result that i look for in a mascara, so obviously i like it! A lot!
Although the formula is just right for me (the right balance between wet and dry), it does dry down very very fast. It's both good and not so good *LOL*, good because it won't smudge if you blink immediately after applying (because it will be already set), not so good in a sense that it's not easy to layer. Personally i think one layer is more than enough (i mean, look at the result!) but if by some reason you want to apply another layer, it would be a struggle as the lashes would already be very dry and tugging on the brush (i tried), it wouldn't look too pretty either. So if you feel like adding another layer, do it without any pause at all!
I would highly recommend this Rich Volume variant if you like extra dolly style lashes and you want to achieve it FAST (one layer and you're set all day long!), if you don't like the clumpy effect (i personally like it) tho, choose Rich Curling.
Now, the Rich Curling Fixcara has a curved brush and it gives my lashes a very pretty effect that no other mascaras ever gave me and i never knew i wanted!
The result is very wispy, lengthening (it has fibres in it), still very noticeable in a demure way - it simply makes my lashes fan out beautifully in a way that really shocks me -or should i say, i am shooketh *LOL*.
Like i already stated, i always thought that my ideal lashes is the one the Rich Volume gave as i really love volumized, curled, dolly, jet-black lashes, but ISTG, Rich Curling is so different but sooo pretty that i starting to question my preference *LOL*.
For bolder look, i probably would still go for the Rich Volume, but of softer, daily makeup kind of days - i know i would always reach for Rich Curling. If you love natural but still with extra oomph lashes, wispy and non clumpy, lengthening mascara, i highly, highly recommend this one. Unlike "natural looking" claiming mascara in the market that does nothing to your lashes (unless you already have naturally long and curled lashes), opt for this one instead as it still soft enough to look natural, but amplified your lashes a lot more than you can ask for.
I get asked which one's my fave out of the 2 is my fave and i posted a reel in my IG and i had the hardest time choosing because both are so so SO GEWD, i surprise myself when i realized that i actually love the Rich Curling one a little more! Honestly, the Rich Volume is everything i look for in a mascara, but there are quite a few that is kinda similar (result wise) in the market (admittably, with less stressing price tag LOL) that i feel myself drawn more to my newer finish love, Rich Curling!
To be honest with you, i was also quite surprised at how much i love them because most of the time, i feel like Korean mascaras are "just fine". Most of them are too subtle and natural for my liking so i am definitely pleasantly surprised at how these two ticks all of my boxes! Belgleam is surely the first Korean brand whose mascara get my full stamp of approval as the ones from various brands i tried before just "pass" or even "below standard" for me.
- Same "just right" formula ✅
- Same super fast dry time ✅
- Same ability to hold curled lashes (even super straight ones like mine) all day long ✅
- Same ability not to smudge all day long even during super humid days and mask wear ✅
I think that's more than enough to explain why i love them so much!
If you are keen on trying them, grab them from my Charis Shop ^^ - i honestly cannot recommend them enough!
