Eye Stories 26 : Etude X Hersey's Play Color Eyes Mini Set (SPONSORED)

If you're a follower of my IG then you'd probably saw me mentioning about these products quite a bit both on my stories and also feed but i sure take my sweet time to review them because i already planned to do an in depth review on the blog since i got them in the mail. Now that i pretty much used them countless times, i am ready to talk about them in details.
I'm talking Etude X Hersey's Play Color Eyes Mini Set ofc.
Old followers would know that i am a HUGE fan of Etude, when i still buy makeup like a mad person (i have stopped buying makeup in the past few years because i already have a massive collection and i also receive a lot of makeup from events and sponsors on a daily basis), i was obsessed with Etude. It has always been my favorite makeup brand because it's affordable, has crazy cute packaging , good quality and they always come up with the cutest collaborations like this one with Hersey's!
Etude is sadly no longer available offline in Indonesia but thanks to K-Online Shop like Charis, we can still have access to them - and the prices online is so much better than in the stores anyway.
As i love Etude and cute collab so much, i was naturally very excited when i receive them and for me - they definitely dont disappoint, this is proven by how i keep on reaching for them whenever i'm doing my makeup to go out.
There are 2 mini eyeshadow palettes (as well as some lip color and two brushes) from this collection and i'm gonna talk about the lighter color one :

So as someone who is used to Korean makeup, i know what to expect. Korean makeup are more on the natural side (especially for brands like Etude that is more catered towards younger consumers) so their eyeshadows would probably not be super pigmented like say, Western brands are (or even Indonesian brands), this is actually not a weakness IMO but a characteristic. So if you're looking for super pigmented, very Instagram-baddie appropriate eyeshadow, i'd say you come to the wrong channel *LOL*.
Having said that, it's not like the eyeshadows are hard or won't show up, they are easy enough to pick up and have decent pigmentation, but they are designed to be natural looking, easy to use and easy to blend. For Cookies N' Cream, i'd say the colors are super wearable for everyday, natural makeup and suitable for teenagers who just started using makeup too.
While the matte shades are so so and nothing to be excited about, the shimmers are another thing altogether. My favorite thing about Korean makeup is their shimmery eyeshadows as they do it just right, super pretty, super fine and super bling-bling but without being too much. The two shimmer shades in this palette definitely don't disappoint.

Highly recommending this palette for neutral, easy eye makeup lovers, makeup beginners and also makeup collectors (ahem *hoarder* ahem) like me.

| While i did packed on the eyeshadow for this look, i did not use any primer (nor concealer) and the eyeshadows' able to achieve this level of pigmentation so it's a proof that they are buildable. I love this eye look and i think it'd be awesome for an evening event. Reception makeup using Etude? Who says it can't be achieved... |
I love the Original palette, it's still quite neutral looking but it's a little more exciting if you're "intermediate to advanced" in makeup, and the shimmers on this one is bolder and better.
I think the two palettes are very different but synchronized (it's like a Day look palette and a Night look palette), like you can turn them into one palette and call it Chocolate, if you know what i mean *LOL*. I personally like them a lot and get a lot of wear out of them. They are available as a set in Charis and you can purchase them at my Charis Shop for IDR 375,000 (which means one palette is IDR 187,500, which is not outrageous).
I would recommend them for y'all who are looking for neutral, earth colored eyeshadow palettes that are suitable for everyday use, easy to use, a breeze to blend (you almost don't have to put on any effort to do so) and cute to boot!
