Food4Skin 14 : Try Me Skin Care (SPONSORED)

Helloeee everybodee ^^!

Do you wish for a brighter, healthier skin but have limited budget for skin care? Fret no more because today i have a whole range of brightening skin care series which are high quality but have a very affordable price tags from a local Indonesian brand called Try Me ^^.
Try Me Brightening Series Skin Care - IDR 280,000
If you're not familiar with the name yet, let me tell you a little bit about them first. Try Me is an Indonesian beauty brand that has been registered since 2016 (so yeah, they are pretty new). All of their products are BPOM registered (so you definitely do not have to worry about the safety of their products), paraben free and without animal testing. Checked for all points in my "must pass" list!

Try Me (currently they only have one line which is the Brightening Series) focuses on brightening your skin but also treating all of your skin problems at the same time with their safe formulation.

Try Me skin care series consist of a facial wash, face toner, face serum, day and night cream. A pretty complete steps for sure!
I have been using Try Me's products for about 2 weeks and i can tell you that every single product in this line is very lovely, i really like how each one performs - but personally i realized pretty fast into it that my skin simply cannot take using the whole line together at the same time because i have a pretty sensitive, very oily skin and Try me products are a little bit too rich for my skin type. I still love the products (i honestly can tell you that they all exceeded my expectations by a mile) individually, i still (and will continue) use them everyday in combination with my other, less rich products. I will share more about how i combine Try Me products in my everyday skin care routine to cater to my skin's needs, but for now let's talk about each of their products first.
Try Me Facial Wash - 100 ml, IDR 70,000
This is a pretty fun and unusual facial wash (especially for local brand, it's quite revolutionary) and i really appreciate the concept
Their claim is pretty basic, Try Me facial wash helps cleans facial skin, getting rid of sebum, dusts, dirt and makeup residue to make your skin clean, hydrated and fresh
It is enriched with Licorice Extract (that contains glabridin which can stop pigmentation process that is caused by exposure to UV rays, it also works as antioxidant to slow down skin aging process), Alpha Arbutin (works as skin lightening agent as well as anti dark spots and or reduce acne marks from your skin), Collagen (the keeper of skin's elasticity and suppleness, Niacinamide (skin conditioning agent that functions to help brightening skin tone, reduce redness, treat skin aging,  maintain skin's hydration and helps reduce pore size), Aloe Vera (works as moisturizer with anti-inflammation properties so it helps to reduce skin irritation signs like redness, acne, dry spots, etc), Sunflower Seed Oil (a skin conditioning agent that is effective to have an anti inflammation effect that can soften skin and prevent rash and redness on your skin that can appear due to over use of cosmetics)
It comes in plastic bottle with foaming pump. Very easy and fun to use
I pumped a few times for the sake of this pic, but believe me you do not need this much! In fact you only need less than a full pump as the foam is very thick and dense, you will need to rinse for a long time of you use too much product!
The facial foam is very very nice, it is very soft, creamy and gentle. Although they actually say that this facial foam is targeted for normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin and is not suggested for dry skin, it actually works really well on both my oily sensitive skin and my hunny's very dry skin! In fact, my hunny loves this facial foam a little more than i do, he loves the convenience and how creamy it is. I, on the other hand, like it quite a lot but i cannot use it too often as it is very rich and moisturizing (which is not very often found in a facial wash product). I would use it probably once a day (preferably at night) and use less moisturizing facial wash in the morning to prevent my skin from breaking out. As it agrees so much more with my hunny's skin, he has claim this facial wash for himself *LOL*.

Please remember that every skin is different, so even if you have the same skin type as mine, it doesn't mean that it would be too rich for you too because it is actually more targeted for oily skin rather than dry skin - but in our experience, it works better on hunny's dry skin. If you have dry or oily skin and want more reference, please do check out my Surabaya Beauty Blogger fellows' blog posts that also review Try Me products to know how the product works on other skin types - but based on our experience i think this is a very nice and lovely facial wash, but it can be a little too rich for daily use if you have very oily, sensitive skin.
Try Me Face Toner - 60 ml, IDR 70,000
The toner comes in a little white box with light purple design

Honestly i am a little bit confused by the instruction because the toner comes in my fave type of mechanism : spray bottle! This is very convenient and fast as you only need to spray a few times to your face but why is the instruction telling you to pour the toner to a cotton pad to apply on your skin? LOL. Well, i always just spray it on, but if you want to use cotton pads you can too
The toner is enriched with Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Citrus Lemon Fruit Extract (has a skin conditioning effect to help moisturizing skin and reduce pore size especially for acne prone skin as well as prevent future acne from forming) and Kojic Acid (remove hyperpigmentation signs like acne scars, dark spots, under eye circle as well as natural anti aging with kojic acid's ability to bound zinc)
Like i mention earlier, it comes in a very handy and travel friendly spray bottle
If you take a look at the ingredient list, you can see that alcohol is the second ingredient to be written that means that it does contain quite a bit of alcohol. Now, alcohol in skin care, especially toner, is very common and safe - but for certain skin type, the high level of alcohol can be a little bit of a problem. I am not especially sensitive to alcohol so i don't really have any side effect, but my skin is pretty sensitive so i do feel a little bit of tenderness whenever i use it. Nothing too severe, but i have to point it out.

The face toner is very refreshing and work well to prep your skin for the next step on your skin care routine and although it contains alcohol, i do not think that it's drying at all. In fact, after spraying it on i feel that my skin is very well moisturized! Again, they state that it is catered more towards normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin - for dry skin their instruction says to use it only once a day (maybe due to the alcohol it contains), for this i cannot comment because i do have very oily skin - there is no undesirable side effect for me at all but if you have dry skin ofc i suggest you to follow their instruction closely.
Try Me Whitening Face Serum - 20 ml, IDR 45,000
Honestly this is probably the most affordable face serum that i ever know so far... And it works so well too!
Comes in a little cardboard box similar to the toner (just smaller)
Enriched with Alpha Arbutin, Citrus Lemon Fruit Extract, Niacinamide, Aloe Vera extract, Jicama (known since the olden times to brighten skin up naturally. Contains high level of Vitamin B1 and C that works as antioxidant on your skin. It doesn't only protect but also brighten, reduce dark spots and keep your skin fresh)
Suitable for all skin types
The texture of Try Me Whitening Face Serum is very light and watery, as you can see from this photo how its' spilling off my hand even though i kept it still and untilted
I absolutely love the serum! It is very light and gets absorbed into the skin very fast and it doesn't leave any stickiness nor greasiness behind. Although it is very light, it actually moisturizes my skin very well and for my very oily skin, it is enough to use on its own without additional moisturizer. Because it is very light and soft, i thought i could layer it (my skin cannot take layers most of the time and most serum must be used on its own otherwise my skin would form loads of whiteheads overnight) with the day and night cream - but i can't. It might work better on drier skin types, but although my skin loves the serum, i can only use it on its own as a moisturizer.

If you have less fussy skin than me (especially if your skin type is normal or dry) then it is recommended to use the serum twice a day before the day and night cream for full moisturization and brightening effect.

Honestly was very shocked when i checked the price on the website, how extremely affordable! If you have very limited budget (even thought the whole line is already very affordable, the whole set is only 280k!) then this is the product that i would highly recommend to try first.
Try Me Glowing Secret Day - 14gr, IDR 65,000

The day and night cream come in an identical packaging that i always have to double check before using it, this is a little bit of a hassle but a very first world kind of problem haha
They both come in a cardboard box with the same design as the toner and serum
This day cream contains UV filter to protect your skin from UV rays so it is to be used every morning after cleansing and toning (and after serum if you can. I have to skip the serum whenever i use Try Me Day or Night cream). It doesn't state to have any SPF or PA though so i would highly suggest you to use extra sunscreen or base makeup with SPF on top of this
Enriched with Uv Filters : Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide that both work chemically by absorbing/filtering Uv  rays and can prevent the effect of direct sun ray exposure to skin. Also Citrus Lemon Fruit Extract, Aloe Vera Extract and Beeswax (use on skin as a protective layer to keep skin's hydration level without staining or clogging skin)
The creams come in a round white plastic jar. If i can give a constructive criticism to Try Me is probably upgrading their packaging a little bit? I mean, their products are so good, it's such a shame that people might overlook it because their packaging is slightly outdated
This is how both creams look like (so i am only going to post one pic), there is an extra lid inside to ensure your product won't spill everywhere
The day cream
The day cream is very creamy and opaque white in color since it contains Uv filters
Try Me day cream might look heavy and thick on the first glance, but it actually melts into your skin very easily and it doesn't feel heavy AT ALL. In fact, it makes my skin feels and look quite matte after application and there is zero stickiness nor greasiness left. As i love matte skin look, i find it perfect to use under my makeup too. Although it doesn't block out sebum or whatever, i love the fact that it doesn't make my skin any more oily than normal like most heavy day creams can.

The day cream is actually suitable for all skin types but as i am concerned that it might not be moisturizing enough for dry skin, BUT that's where the serum comes in. I think if you combine the serum and the day cream then you'd definitely get the hydration you need. For oily skin, you need to test it out first as in my experience layering is a little too rich for my skin - it might be the same for you.
Try Me Shining Ultimate Night Cream - 14gr, IDR 65,000
Like i mentioned earlier, the packaging is identical to the day cream
Enriched with Kojic Acid, Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Citrus Lemon Fruit Extract, Beeswax, Collagen, PEA Extract (protect collagen and elastin from damaging effect from protease that is activated by aging and from mistreatment of skin (Uv, chemical, immunology, etc). Pea contains compounds that can help reduce premature aging due to bacteria infection and can get rid of various free radicals and functions as anti inflammation, therefore can slow down aging process) and Sunflower Seed Oil.
Suitable for all skin types
The night cream that is more of a gel
The texture is very light gel and transparent pink in color
Although the night gel looks and feels very light, on the contrary to the day cream i feel that it is very moisturizing and it does make my oily skin feels oily after a few hours. Nothing too much of bothersome, but it is so much more moisturizing and hydrating than it looks. If the day cream might not be moisturizing enough without the serum for normal and dry skin, i think the night cream would work well on its own (but i would still suggest you to pair with the serum for more impact if your skin can take it). I like the night cream very much and it is one of my fave products from this entire line.

Now that we talk about each of the product individually, let's get back to Try Me Brightening Series as a line. After using it for around 2 weeks, i do think that the entire line is very nice and high quality. They help my skin become brighter, supple and healthier and i do like the result, but as i already mentioned many times throughout this blog post - i personally cannot use the entire line at the same time.

I have maintain using every product every day for the past 2 weeks (not together tho), but when it comes to skin care you have to know your skin's limit and how to make the products work best for your own skin. That means trials and errors AND mixing and matching your products.

For my skin, whenever i use the facial foam and toner, i will have to use lighter moisturizer - and if i want to use the serum (on its own) or the day and night cream then i would use a lighter, deep cleansing type of facial cleanser and toner - this trick is proven the best for my skin. This way, i get the full benefit of each of the products without causing any unwanted effect (in this case, plethora of white heads *LOL*) in the process.

So as a whole, do i like Try Me Brightening Series? Yes, i do. I love some products more than the others (my fave are the face serum and night cream while my hunny loves the facial foam), but in general i can safely say that Try me products are really nice, they work well and truthful to the claims and it has an amazing price point.

Would i recommend Try Me to you all? Yes, i definitely would, but if you have a more sensitive type of skin then i would suggest to try out a few products that stands out to you most instead of the the entire line - but if you have normal skin and would love to try out the entire line then by all means, go grab the package (that is a total value for money at IDR 280k as you need to pay IDR 315k if you buy each of the products separately).

Would i purchase the products with my own money? Not the entire line, no, but i would definitely buy the facial foam for my hunny and i would buy the face serum for myself for sure.

I hope this post help you to have more options for affordable brightening skin care that actually works ^^.

Thank you Try Me and Surabaya Beauty Blogger for the chance to try out these lovely products.

Til next time..
