Hallooooo!!!!!
Like i promised, PIXY Lip Cream review is here!!!
Loving the new nude shades of PIXY Lip Cream ^^ |
As you might already knew, last Saturday me alongside some other bloggers from Surabaya Beauty Blogger (and some lifestyle bloggers) attended PIXY Express Your Truly Asian Beauty event and one of the two generous goodie bags consisted of their newest shades of famous lip creams :D (their earlier series consisted of bolder shades).
The set comes in this cute pink box ^^ |
And tadahhh... |
L-R : 07 Vintage Rose, 08 Delicate Pink, 09 Glam Coral, 10 Sweet Coco, 11 Gaudy Orange, 12 Mild Peach |
The lip creams come in a slim cardboard box dominated with black color and white lettering, the lower part of the box shows you what shade you have in this box |
Manufactured in Indonesia with licence from Mandom Corporation Japan (we all know how superior Japanese products' quality are and PIXY's products must go through the same standard and procedure as Japanese products!) |
Ingredient list, i only featured one because most of the ingredients are the same except maybe some variation in coloring agents |
The lip creams come in a rather chubby black tube with hot pink cap and transparent bottom to see the shades inside |
If you're a nude shades lover, you would definitely go gaga over these :)) |
Before we talk about formulation and staying power, let me show you the hand swatches first :
L-R : 07 Vintage Rose, 08 Delicate Pink, 09 Glam Coral, 10 Sweet Coco, 11 Gaudy Orange, 12 Mild Peach (ofc i have to swatch in chronological order), they have nudes from pink, brown and orange families so whatever tone you like your nudes to be, you can find it in this collection ^^ |
PIXY Lip Cream has a very, well, creamy consistency *grin*. They are light and definitely quite easy to apply, i don't have to struggle a lot to apply them (some lip creams which are too liquidy can be quite challenging to apply for sure) and they are also a real breeze on the lips. The texture is not very liquidy, nor it is too whipped - i would say that this is a very good balance for a lip cream because i personally find the super runny ones to be a challenge to apply precisely and the ones which are too whipped can be very thick, clumpy and not very attractive on the lips. Formulation from shade to shade in this nude range is pretty consistent too (some are runnier than the others, but not by much)
It has a nice, non offensive scent. I am currently very sick, my nose is totally blocked so i am having a hard time sniffing it :)), but from what i can catch (and from my memory), they have a subtle, sweet cake scent, probably vanilla (to be completely honest, i am not the best at describing scents >.<). At the event i swatched all 6 shades on my lips (therefore my application on the lip swatches are not the best, i do apologize for that. I am very strapped of time so taking better swatched photos are not possible at the moment, but i will try to update the lip swatches with better versions gradually) and i never noticed any strong scent at all.
The pigmentation is also very nice, especially for nude colors. I never needed to re-dip the wand to apply on my whole lips fully. Please do note that i have naturally pale pink lip color, so i don't really know how they would perform on dark lips, but on my own-they do a fantastic job in a jivvy. Applying an even layer is also very easy with them.
These Lip Creams wear beautifully and stay on my lips for long hours, i personally find them quite comfortably and not drying (but ofc, would still strongly recommend you to use a generous amount of moisturizing lip creams underneath) my lips out. They are not transfer proof though they do stay on even after having some heavy snacks. I would say you definitely would need to reapply if you have a heavy meal tho!
The price of these lip creams are very good too, they are retailing for around IDR 45.000 each, and for the formula, staying power and comfortability-i think they are pretty fantastically affordable!
Now that we've talked about the nitty gritty, let's talk about the shades.
Pixy Lip Cream 07 Vintage Rose |
Vintage Rose is a darker nude pink, very nice for everyday kind of lip color |
I wore this shade out a whole day and it was comfortable and long lasting for sure ^^ |
Pixy Lip Cream 08 Delicate Pink |
Delicate Pink is the lightest shade and the only one that looks super nude on my pale complexion. I got a lot of compliments when i wore this shade ^^ |
I love how Delicate Rose is a light nude pink shade but it doesn't wash me out! It's definitely one of the prettiest nude shades i have and that's saying a lot because i am not even a fan of nude lip colors |
Pixy Lip Cream 09 Glam Coral |
Glam Coral is the only shade in this collection with shimmery micro glitter in it, it is a light coral shade with gold sheen on it. I don't normally like coral shades on myself, but i do like Glam Coral and i love the golden shimmer that makes it almost semi metallic looking |
Pixy Lip Cream 10 Sweet Coco |
Sweet Coco is a gorgeous, brownish shade (on me it still has a strong coral hint to it). I like darker shades so this shade is a keeper for me, and we all know that brownish shades are so in right now-so if you're into the whole Kylie Jenner thing, Sweet Coco can be a nice option without breaking your bank :)) |
Pixy Lip Cream 11 Gaudy Orange |
Gaudy Orange is another one of the darker shades in this line, if you have darker complexion and looking for a nude orange shade this shade would be gorgeous on you! As for pale ladies like me, it would be a more of a bold shade than a nude, but still gorgeous! I don't normally gravitate towards oranges, but Gaudy Orange has the right balance of orange and red tint in it that it looks super fresh and pretty for me! |
Pixy Lip Cream 12 Mild Peach |
Again, i am not an orange lippie kind of person, but Mild Peach is not so starkly orange and i find it very wearable. This kind of shades are actually makes me look very put together for some reasons |
So those are he lip swatches for all six shades of PIXY Lip Cream nude series, i think most of the shades would be perfect for medium skin tones (which means they're very suitable for Indonesian ladies!), they are also very pretty on lighter skin tones like mine and there are some selections for darker skin tonnes too (though some might be too pale for them, but there are some shades that can definitely be gorgeous on them).
My favorite shades are Delicate Pink (a nude that doesn't make me look like a ghost is hard to find!) and Glam Coral (those gold shimmers are so divine! I hope PIXY would come up with metallic shades now!). What about you? Do you have them in your collection, and if you do what are your fave shades? If you don't have them yet, which shades would you like to try?
