Food4Skin 09 : Mellydia Cosmetic (SPONSORED)

Hey guysss ^^...

So finally, FINALLY - my skin has started to calm down. If you read my previous posts then you'd know i was having a bit of problems with my skin freaking out thanks to stress and other triggers, then i used products that had a purging tendencies and in the end, while my acne problem subsided, my skin was still not in the best shape due to the harshness of the previous products. Imma be brutally honest and tell you that i had no high hopes for these very affordable products from Mellydia Cosmetic when i first receive it- so imagine how pleasantly surprised i am that they work so nicely and now my skin is pretty much back to its normal, glorious condition *ahem*.

I am confident to say that i love these products from Mellydia and now i am going to share with you my thoughts on every single products and how they work for my skin.
The complete series of Mellydia Cosmetic skincare - all for only IDR 300,000!
So Mellydia itself is a local Indonesian brand that has been around since 2000 (under a different name) and recently relaunch their products under Mellydia (you can read more about their history here).
Mellydia's full range consists of 5 items, pretty simple, no nonsense but work like a charm
The first item is ofc, the cleanser.
Mellydia Facial Foam IDR 55,000 - 100 ml
The facial foam comes in a simple squeeze tube container with flip cap. As you can see from the sticker on the tube, Mellydia products are Halal certified already as well as registered under BPOM so you can be ensured of their safety and quality
Ingredient list
Mellydia facial foam has a very unique texture, it is thick gel with a LOT of air bubbles. I must warn you that the facial wash is heavily fragranced (it is very pronounced and you can smell it as soon as you flip the cap open), but for me personally i actually don't mind the smell. I usually am pretty worried when my facial wash is too perfumey and Mellydia's definitely very perfumey - i think the scent is nice tho and the product itself is still very gentle on my skin so in the end i don't think that the fragrance did anything bad, it's just something you should be informed of because of how very obviously fragranced it is.
The thick gel turns very creamy once you mix it with water, a little goes a long way so you don't need to use a truckload of it to wash you face!
Mellydia facial wash is very gentle and a total pleasure to use. Like i mentioned earlier, i was nervous to use it at first because of the heavy fragrance, but thankfully it's actually very awesome and it is one of the best facial washes i've used in a while. It leaves my skin super clean but still smooth and without the stripped feeling that i really hate.

The facial wash contains bengkoang or jicama, an ingredient often found in Indonesian products due to its natural ability to brighten skin up, has a high dose of Vitamin C and B1 that functions as antioxidant. It doesn't only protects but also reduce dark spots and helps keeping skin fresh.
Mellydia Beauty Water IDR 55,000 - 60ml
Beauty Water works as both toner and also refresher that you can use anytime anywhere
The Beauty Water comes in a very generic looking white spray bottle
Again, i was a bit skeptical at first (honestly the name beauty water really brings the skeptics out haha), and again i was pleasantly surprised at how nice this product is. In fact, it is probably my fave product from this line and if you have very very limited budget, this is the product that i would recommend to get (you know, if you only have a budget to get one item from this line. Ofc i don't mean for you to only use the beauty water without cleansing your face first or whatever ya!)
First of all, i think the way that you only need to spray it to use is genius. I mean, even the laziest of us would certainly able to push themselves to spray for a few seconds, right? The product is very soothing, cooling and calming to my skin. It is super gentle so even when i have fresh acne scars (coz whenever i got any tiny blemishes, i cannot help but pick at them :(... A very bad habit, please do not copy) it doesn't sting but soothes instead. I feel that the beauty water (along with the other products in this line) really helps to dry out all blemishes i have left and speed up the recovery process of my skin.

The beauty water contains licorice extract (that has active compounds called "glabridin" which is a high antioxidant that protects skin from free radicals, as well as Licochalcone that functions as natural skin oil's balancer therefore can treat oily skin. Licorice also can reduce panda eyes, uneven skin tone and dark spots), bengkoang/jicama, aloe vera (known as natural moisturizer and anti inflammatory. Aloe vera leaves no oily residue behind so it is suitable for all skin types and it contains Auxin and Giberellins that works as wound cures, anti inflammatory and also as stimulant to skin regeneration).
Mellydia Whitening Serum 10ml - IDR 55,000
It comes in a small glass bottle with dropper top. I love serums that comes with a dropper! It's just so much easier to use
The serum itself is clear and only a little thicker than water
Not a lot of serums work for my skin as they tend to be a little too rich for my oily skin. Usually adding serums to my whole skincare routine would resulted in white heads as the combination of serum and moisturizer is just too much for me - but it seems like i have some lucks with serums lately because my skin totally loves Mellydia's serum as well. The serum is very very light (probably the lightest serum i've ever tried), gets absorbed super super fast into my skin without leaving any residue behind and yet gives my skin deep moisturization that it needs. My skin also reacts well to its combination with both the day and night cream - a total cause for celebration because it's quite a rare occurance for me haha!

Anyway, serum basically is a skin conditioner with active ingredient concentration that can get absorbed immediately into the pores due to its smaller molecular size compared to creams, normally used before moisturizers to minimize irritations and protects skin from pollutants.

Mellydia's Whitening Serum's main ingredients consist of two important categories : anti oxidant and anti inflammatory that are contained in these ingredients : Licorice Exctract, Collagen (functions as the keeper of skin's elasticity and suppleness) and Vitamin C (that helps the production of collagen in our skin to keep skin healthy and minimize aging signs. Vit C also helps maintaining skin cells amd prevent UV damage).
Mellydia Day Cream 15g - IDR 85,000
So both the Day and Night Cream comes in this super generic white plastic jar. Honestly not a fan of the packaging and it's the main reason why i have doubts of these products being good (in the beginning) because they use such generic packaging that doubtful creams are sold in *LOL*. Thankfully the product inside is very good (like the rest of Mellydia products) but i do think first impression counts, if i can give a constructive criticism is for them to upgrade their packaging to be less generic and more exclusively theirs, i guess?
Day cream is slightly thick and opaque due to the UV protective ingredients
Although the day cream looks and feels a little thick, it actually blends pretty well and gets absorbed relatively easy into my skin. It's also doesn't feel thick or overly greasy on my skin so i don't mind using it under my makeup as it doesn't make my skin more oily than normal. There is just one thing that bothers me about Mellydia's creams, and that's the scent. Unlike the facial foam, i don't think they add any fragrance to their beauty water, serum, day or night cream - which is not a bad thing, and the creams also doesn't have an unpleasant scent or anything, but for me they kinda smell like... mayo or ranch dressings *LOLOLOL* so that's a bit odd. But that could just be me and my weirdly sensitive nose.

Mellydia Day Cream is enriched with Licorice Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, Shea Butter extract (one of the moisturizing agents with natural vitamin A and E that can take care of skin problems like wrinkles and acne scars), Alpha Arbutin (skin brightening agent that releases hydroquinone to slow down skin pigmentation process as the reaction from exposure to sun light) and Vitamin E (that slows down skin aging process by blocking the entrance of free radicals into our skin. Continuous use of Vitamin E can reduce wrinkles).
Mellydia Night Cream 15g - IDR 85,000
Then night cream is lighter and less opaque than the day cream
The night cream, although rich and moisturizing and does make me feel a bit greasy in combination with the serum actually doesn't make me wake up with a face as oily as wok haha. Instead i wake up with smooth, soft and supple skin!

Our skin go through regeneration process while we sleep, that's why Mellydia Night Cream that functions to give nutrition during the night (as well as lightening up dark spots) can help and maximize the process. The night cream contains Vitamin E, Alpha Arbutin, Aloe Vera Extract, Licorice Extract and Besswax (works as a protective layer to keep skin's hydration level without staining or block pores).

SO!

I have been using the entire line of Mellydia Cosmetic for 2 weeks and like i already mentioned from the beginning : my skin is loving it! The simple 4 steps skin care for both day and night are very easy and fast to do and all of their products are light and kind to my skin. After previously using such agressive products, my skin is welcoming Mellydia products with joy haha.

I genuinely enjoyed my experience with Mellydia Cosmetic products and i would confidently say that i am highly recommending their products to all of you especially the ones that are looking for good, affordable, simple but effective skin care. Granted, they only have one line so if you are looking for specific type of skin care (like acne treating, or for very dry skin, etc), then this is not exactly it - but if you are looking for no frilly, basic skin care line that is kind to your skin - you should totally consider checking these out.

I personally would not hesitate to spend my own money on these products - and i definitely would consider buying them in the future. I especially love their facial foam, beauty water and serum, but the creams are nice too and since they sell the complete package with lower price than if you purchase individually, i don't see why you shouldn't get the whole line for yourself or loves ones that needs to start taking care of their skin but doesn't know where to start (sometimes the skincare world is a little too complicated, right?) :D.

And before i say byebye, i wanna thank Mellydia and Surabaya Beauty Blogger for the chance to try out these awesome products ^^.
