Pink and Undecided: ibb make up challenge

IBB Make Up Challenge March 2014

Hellowww hellowww!!!

I am back with another MUC, twice this month wow! LOL. Main reason why i would join any make up challenge in the first place is the do-ability of the challenge. As a non fantasy makeup fan and a blogger with a limited make up ability, outrageously fantastical themes would totally scare me away haha. So when i saw that Indonesia Beauty Blogger's March 2014 MUC (in collaboration with a very prestigious brand, Menard) is Natural Glow, i thought "Hey, that's not so scary" and decided to join it! The prizes for this MUC are pretty fantastic, there would be two winners who will get prizes worth IDR 2.300.000 each! WOW!

Here's the result :

Is it glowy enough >.<??? I hope so. To be quite honest with you, i'm not used with glowy kind of makeup, as in deliberately trying to make my skin looks glowy and dewy. I have very oily skin (i always need to use oil blotters every 3 hours, and i would need at least two *for oil blotter film, five for oil blotter paper!!!) and i always opt for matte base make up (i love glitters and glow for eyes and lips) because it'll turn glowy in less than an hour naturally, no matter what.

Here are the products that i used for this look :

First up : Scarily pale bare face with annoying redness at some parts

Base Make Ups :
1. Anna Sui Foundation Primer (old packaging)
2. Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation SPF 20 in 1 Vanilla (it's the softest, lightest foundie ever that disappears into my skin once blended! I love it and will review it sometime in the future haha)
3. Collection Pressed Powder in 10 Daydream
4. DHC Medicated Acne Care Concealer
5. Clinique All About Eyes Concealer in 01 Neutral

My face after base make up. It's not glowy yet because of the very matte powder i used (i needed more coverage than usual because i have a red spot on my cheek from an old pimple that hasn't disappear completely yet. I also *stupidly* tried to use a cream highlighter under the powder-which immediately disappear after i put the medium coverage powder on! LOL. But you can still see the light glow on my nose bridge!

For eye make up : 1. Urban Decay Nakes 2 Palette (i finally start using it hahaha) 2. Collection Killer Curves Mascara 3. The Face Shop Color My Eye Brow in 02 Light Brown 4. E.l.f Eye Primer 5. Maybelline Hyper Gloss Liquid Eyeliner (Black) 6. NYX Liquid Eyeliner 7. Oriflame Dual Color Eyeliner (Black & White) 8. My trusty Stroberi eyelash curler :p

I used very light, neutral colors on my eyes (only darkening it a bit around the crease), less thick (and shorter) eyeliner than usual. Lined my waterline in my usual style because i wanted to add a little more glow on the eyes (even though white eyeliner is not really natural at all haha)

I topped up the highlighter on my cheek bones and nose bridge

The highlighters : 1. Esprique Precious Double Shine Face Powder 2. Collection Blush & Highlight Cream Duo (Peaches & Cream)

Blush on : Teen Teen 3D Powder Blusher (that has loads and loads of fine glitters on the for some added "glow")

The makeup before adding highlighting powder all over my face, i looked really tan-why? Because the Collection powder i used (shade Vanilla) is around two tones darker than my own skin *LOL*. I happen to like using darker toned powders if i want to top it up with lots of shimmering finishing powder though (somehow it's totally invincible on my pale complexion otherwise!)

Sorry for the 'tache and gross sweat bullets! It's really really HOT lately in Surabaya and i was sweating bullets by the time i finished my makeup! I forgot to photograph the products i used on my lips but they are : Oriflame Tender Care, Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipstick in 01 Naked topped with Shiseido Lip Gloss in G1 Champagne Sparkle in the middle

Ready for some self-absorbed selfies? Hehehe

I actually wear the look to go out with some of my blogging friends last Sunday!

It wasn't a lot of make up, just a little touch here and there but i think it made a load of difference!

I hope you like my look! And if you are interested in joining the challenge-hurry up! You have about 24 hours left!

IBB Make Up Challenge February 2014

beauty

Hi, my dears!

I haven't joined any make up challenge lately mainly because my not-very-high skill with make up *LOL*, especially when MUCs that's been swirling around in the beauty community has been getting crazier and crazier in concept (meaning : i do not have to skill to create a look suitable for the challenge) but when i see IBB MUC (in case anyone's not familiar with IBB, where have you been? It stands for the fabulous community that is Indonesian Beauty Blogger, of course!) with a theme that's super close to my heart (i love everything princessy, pastel, fairish! Rainbow, unicorn and everything nice, awwww) i knew i have to join it (for fun!) :D.

IBB MUC February 2014 : Summer Fairytale

IBB's February MUC's sponsored by my favorite make up brand : Etude House, all the more reasons that i have to join this!

And no, i KNOW it's already March, but i'm not too late to join this since they've extended the submitting date to March 6th (so if you're interested to join this, HURRY!). I always associated summer with white sundresses and pretty daisies, while fairy tales would always means beautiful pastel colors, so combining those two elements in my entire look, here's what i came up with :

I'm super bad at naming anything, but let's call this look... Summer Fairy?

I know my make up skill's far from being good, but i am pretty happy with the result :D! That explains the number of cam-ho'ing pictures that i took yesterday (when i did the look) :p! I actually been meaning to join this MUC since the beginning, but i was too busy with my Hong Kong trip, and once i got back a huge pimple appeared on my cheek (you can still see the fading scar. I guess my skin got shocked by the crazy weather changes, the super cold 2 -7 degrees celcius Hong Kong to humid and hot Singapore and Indonesia) and that totally ruined my mood for any MUC! Thankfully they decided to postpone the closing date so i can finally join it, yay!!!

Here's a simple tutorial on how to achieve this look :

1. Bare face, 2. Base : ETUDE HOUSE AC Clinic Daily Sun BB SPF 30/PA++, ETUDE HOUSE Surprise Essence Concealer (shade #1), ETUDE HOUSE Proof 10 Eye Primer, Collection Pressed Powder (10 Daydream-which is too yellow for me >.< but it's still usable, 3. Eyebrow : The newest step in my make up routine, adding Eyebrow Mascara (The Face Shop Color My Eyebrow in 02 Light Brown)

1. Use pastel mint eyeshadow on the outer corner of your eyes, use the leftover color to lightly color your eye socket and inner part, 2. Use bright blue eye shadow in the inner corner of your eyes, 3. Use pinky lilac eye shadow in the middle part of your eyelid. Product used : Aphrology Eye Shadow Palette

1. Blend everything together, 2. Fairy must have a pixie dust, i added Oriflame White Shimmer Loose Eyeshadow on my brow bone, in the middle part of my lid (on top of the pinky lilac eyeshadow) and in the inner part of my eye-near the tear duct

Line your eyes dramatically, bring it downward a little bit and drag longer for an innocent, eyes look. Product used : NYX liquid eyeliner & Maybelline Hyper Gloss Liquid Eyeliner. Curl and put on your fave volumizing mascara (i used Collection Killer Curves Mascara, but it is not one of my fave mascara BY FAR). I should've added falsies for a more dramatic result but i was in a hurry and my horrible technique means i need a LOT of time to stick on my falsies!

Line your waterline with blue eye shadow (the same one you used for the inner corner of your eyes), top it up with black eyeliner (i used Collection Eyeshadow Pencil in Midnight Glam) from the outer corner of your waterline up to the middle part. Continue the other half with bling2 eyeliner (i used Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in 1 Glitz). Then add sweet pink blush to compliment the sweet, innocent look (i used old ETUDE HOUSE blush on : Bloomade Blusher in #6 Geranium Bloom)

Complete the look with sweet pink lip stick (don't forget to apply lip balm to avoid chapped lips!)-i used Oriflame Tender Care + Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick 116 Candy. I also added white shimmery powder on my nose bridge to create the illusion of a higher nose bridge :). Since i am always thorough, not only i dressed up to match the theme, i also painted my nails with the appropriate color, representing summer and to match my daisy head band : bright yellow nails (The Face Shop YL702)

Ready for more narcissistic photos?

I finally got to use my daisy flower wreath headband (bought in New Look for IDR 69.000)

I've always wanted to take pictures with this style *LOL*

I actually wore this look to CW minus the flower wreath (people will definitely stare *sigh*). White Lace Inner : Forever 21, White Mini Dress : Korz. I will blog more about this look separately :)

A closer look to my flower wreath. I absolutely adore it and wish these kinds are more readily available in Indonesia (with decent prices. Accessorize got plenty of them but they're very pricey!), the loose kind-i hate the stretchy kind that would make your hair pop up weirdly

I asked my hunny to snap some pictures of me but as usual, he made me look very mean (think Disney Villain as opposed to Disney Princesses/fairies that i was aiming for), like this one!

I hope you like the look i created (and if you don't please don't be too mean to me *LOL*)! IBB already have another MUC for March, wonder if i should join it too :)..

IBB March 2013 Make Up Challenge : Dazzling Like Marilyn

culinary

Hey guyss :D

IBB's March Make Up Challenge theme's : Dazzling Like Marilyn

Yes, of course THAT Marylin lah, Marilyn Monroe, who else? LOL. Initially i didn't want to join it because.. well.. i've never used Caucasian celebrities style as my guide before, i think it's really hard lah because my face very Asian and i think make up techniques for Caucasian and Asian face's different, and also because Marilyn's image is nothing like mine *LOL*. But when i saw some of the other entries... i cannot help myself lah, i want to do also HAHAHA. So here's my Marilyn look :p

Wahahaha... what do you think? I always burst out laughing whenever i see my own pictures trying to look sexy or sultry *ROFL*, i cannot lah :p. Anyway, i think my Marilyn Monroe look kinda turned into a very gyaru look, so Gyaru Marilyn? HAHAHAH... Nothing i could do about my hair either, my hair's so long and straight i cannot style it look like Marilyn's sorry haha.

I actually followed the instructions on this site as close as i possibly can and still felt comfortable with, which means : there were a few adjustments lah haha. I actually loved the way it turned out *i'm really loving red lips nowadays! I think it compliments my pale skin perfectly, can't believe the first time ever i wore a bright red lipstick is just a few months ago haha, also for IBB's make up challenge!* and for me it's really wearable to go out on weekends :p. Here's the step by step tutorial on how to achieve this look!

1. Base.

I just had my monthly facial two days before so i have some marks that i don't usually have. And i only use acne-treating/preventing products on my face at least a week after my facials, so this time i used my Etude House AC Clinic Sun BB, set with Sariayu Bedak Jerawat (Acne powder. I LOVE this powder, will do a review in the future), oh also concealers for under eye and facial marks. I know Marilyn's look's supposed to be dewy and glowing, but my skin's too oily already, i cannot afford to apply anything dewy haha, i always make sure my skin's super matte because it'll turn dewy (oily... but it looks dewy okay!) within the first hour anyway.

2. Eyes.

Marilyn's famous eye make up's always using pearly (dazzling? hehe) white eye shadow with strong eye liners. I used pearly white cream eye shadow as a base to make sure the white eye shadow will be very obvious. Topped it with a white shimmery (i used Maybelline's) powder eye shadow on top. I used the pearly white cream eye shadow on my brow bone as well.

Fill the gap between the white shadows (also on lower corner of the brow bone) with very light brown eye shadow for contouring, i used a light tan colored eye shadow. Blend them well.

Apply liquid eye liner (Marilyn used brown eye liner bur since i don't own one i used my usual black Dior eye liner hehe. Plus her hair's platinum blonde and mine's much darker so i think black liner's okay :p) thickly, drag them longer than your actual eyes.

Then apply mascara generously, you can wear falsies if you want to, i was going out and i had not mastered the art of applying falsies nicely so i didn't put on any haha. As usual, i used my Maybelline mascaras. Don't forget to curl them tightly before, Marilyn's look also famous for her flirty eye lashes.

Wore vaseline on my lips to prep my lips for lippie, it looked milky because it got mixed with bb cream on my fingers :p

Finish your eye make up with the same colored eye liner (but i prefer pencil liners for waterline) on your waterline, halfway from the middle of your eyes outward, drag them longer. This step is a secret of Marilyn's sultry eyes, it's mimicking eye lash shadows that falls on her eyes! Since i think it'd be weird if i wear black eye liner on my upper eyes and brown eye liner under i wore a black pencil liner and ended up looking Egytian inspired instead hahahaha. Line the other half of your waterline with shimmery white/silver eye liner, also don't forget to color your inner corner of your eyes. I have no picture of this step since i always do the finishing touch last, you can see it in the final pictures.

3. Cheeks.

Marilyn's face always looked bronzed and sexy, so i used bronzer as a blusher, also along my cheek bones.

Yes, i'm chubby, but i have cheek bones too!

4. Lips.

Of course, red lipstick is a must for this look! I (as usual, the only red lippie i have haha) used my Oriflame red lipstick generously. My lips are already quite full (this is why i didn't dare to wear bright lip colors before, i'm afraid my lips will look even bigger. Once, years ago i wear fuchsia colored lip gloss my my sis in law CJ commented that my lips looked huge and fish-like, even though it was a lip gloss and not very pigmented! I never touched bright colored lips afterward, but nowadays i don't give an eff lah hahaha) so i didn't do anything to exaggerate them.

Fish or duck lip?

Ta dahh, you're done!

I liked my look so i cam-whored non stop hahahaha, lemme show you a few (okay okay, a LOT) :p

Oh, you can tell i kept on showing off my nails too *LOL*. I was (still am, this was taken last Saturday) wearing O.P.I Mariah Carey Liquid Sand in The Impossible. Review can be expected!

I was going out so i didn't wear a sexy Marilyn Monroe white halter dress lah (because this is Surabaya LOL, and i don't do sexy :p), instead i wore a very innocent looking floral baby doll chiffon dress (brand : Cavalier, it was on a huge sale :p. My mum said it's a very nice dress. She seems to be loving my dresses lately i wonder why, she used to have negative comments on all of my clothes haha). Actually i remember seeing a picture of Marilyn wearing a similar cut dress as a sleeping gown (but it's plain white i think) hahaha, too bad i couldn't find the picture.

Had to wear a slip dress underneath because the inner layer of this dress' super short!

Always feel very feminine and princessy in chiffon dresses hahaha

Oh, i don't show off my accessories too often, yes? Lemme start doing that too haha! This is what i wore our that night (yes... brand new... the dress was also brand new :p)

Very thin and very pretty, i love love love this!

Kitty head blinged necklace

Classic looking rose earrings

Three stacked violet rings, a fairy with her flowers! Isn't it pretty?

All of those accessories was purchased online, you know from those local online shops that sells Korean inspired accessories (they are made in China lah please, why else they are so cheap haha), except for my rings, i bought it in Centro, obvi not as cheap as the ones bought online haha.

My OOTD :

Anyway, we went to GM (with Baby Boy, obvi) that day, we were meeting up with #Undecided and hubby but as usual, they were running very very very late haha (so late that they only had time for dinner and later we went for elektromagnetic theraphy together, when we're done all of the shops in the mall closed already LOLOL) so we had dinner first. Needed coffee (zzz) so we headed to The Coffee Bean, and then hunny saw their new menus and i was craving their caesar salad so we had dinner there.

Hunny's beef something something hehe

My fave caesar salad

Want some? hehe

#Undecided and i both wore grey clothings accidentally so of course we had to take a picture right? Haha.

I love how the angle made my face super small hahahaha, and i was towering over #Undecided that day because i was wearing high heels while she was on flats haha

Okay, that's all for today! Hope you like my Gyaru Marylin look haha!
