Pink and Undecided: flash tatto

Dressing My Age... or Not!

Hey guys....

Happy April Fool's Day!!! Did you prank anyone today? Hehe... (No no, i didn't. Spent it with a girl's date with L trying out a new cafe, Thirty3Brew-chit chatting about... ghosts, of all things and then to the dentists because my half fake tooth *my teeth broke in half so they had to make a false one to make it whole again zzz* fell off yesterday while i was eating fried rice -____-).

It's time for another backdated outfit post (not so backdated lah, it's from last December LOLOLOL, i told you i would post outfit pics from 2013 as well, i'll just call it... Throwback Style, cool eh? Totally just made that up, am i good or am i good?). This was the look i threw together for the opening of House of Mustika Ratu event :

Like i mentioned many times before, when i attend an even,t i like to dress up to reflect the brand's image and. Since Mustika Ratu has an elegant (they are the official cosmetic for Puteri Indonesia pageant after all), prim, proper and traditional image, i decided to dress very feminine and soft. I didn't mean to dress maturer than usual, but turned out that's how the look translated because #Undecided actually said she was surprised by my mumsy attire *LOL*.

I didn't know that mini tutu skirts' mumsy, #Undecided!

The dusty pink lace dress was the core item for this look and i worked the items around it. The dress' super short for me so i had to layer it with a baby pink mini tutu skirt to make it look decent

I was working on flash tattoo review back then so i was totally decked in it! That reminds me, i should start using them again, i have so many of them in my stash thanks to Me-Nail!

Paired the look with a simple and soft makeup with strong lip color :

FOTD/MOTD

I was also trying out Make Over eyeliner pencil in Glam Gold that i got from Miracle's event's goodie bag, i didn't expect it be so lovely!

AND Clinique's Cream Shaper for Eyes in Egyptian that i also received in a goodie bag *LOL* (i clearly don't really buy eyeliner anymore, i got so many from goodie bags!)

List of products used :
1. Etude House AC Clinic Daily Sun BB
2. C/o Mustika Ratu Simply Stay Two Way Cake
3. Clinique All About Eyes Concealer
4. e.l.f Eye Primer
5. e.l.f Beach Beauty Palette (using the eye shadows and blush on)
6. Make Over Eyeliner Pencil (Glam Gold)
7. Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes (Egyptian)
8. Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara
9. Mentholatum Water Lip (Pure Joy)
10. Wardah Exclusive Lipstick (32, Precious Violet)
11. Esprique Precious Double Shine Face Powder

So judging from how #Undecided reacted, i suppose i was dressing my age for once? Would my fussy big sis approve? No, i don't think so, it was most probably still way too short for her liking (according to her i have to cover my entire thighs to look skinnier. Well. I don't think i can restrict myself like that, if i have to stay within those very rigid rules to dress in order to look skinnier, i guess i'd rather look fat 5 out of 10 times i dress up. I dress up to make myself happy, not to make people approve of me....)

Anyway, me being me, of course i had to insert a bit of a playful touch to a rather mature (can i say boring #ahem) look, while i think the appearance of the multiple flash tattoos all over my body added to the playfulness, i just had to take it up a notch with the uber kawaii Baby Biscuit bag!

Outfit Details : Lace Dress : Cache Cache Tutu Skirt : Joop Heels : gift from my mum (she bought it in a store in TP) Baby Biscuit Bag : Classroom Bow Pearl Obi : from another dress

I dragged my niece Au to the event and unconsciously dressed her in a rather similar outfit (coz i like to look matchy matchy with my girls, family, etc *LOL*.

What do you think, did i look mumsy enough?

Me-Nail Exclusive 07 : Flash Tattoos (SPONSORED)

accessories

Hello hellow!

Normally a Me-Nail Exclusive would automatically means a Crystal Nail review, yes? Well, not today! A few weeks ago L a.k.a Me-Nail's lady boss asked me to do another product review for them, the very on-trend Flash Tattoos!

What is a flash tattoo? Basically it's a temporary metallic jewelry tattoo, which means now you can also wear your favorite jewelries ON your skin-how cool is that?

Flash tattoo's definitely the rage on the fashion scenes right now, everybody from your favorite IG-ers to the runway models are sporting them and it's time for me to jump on the trend :D! While the original Flash Tattoos would set you back as far as USD 22 per package, Me-Nail's providing a more generic version for those of you with limited budget. Their version of flash tattoos sells for IDR 55.000/piece (with multiple designs, as you can see for yourself in the pictures) and if you use my discount code (which i will provide near the end of this post, so you have to read the entire post, teehee!) you'll get 10% off discount.

Let's start with the review!

Since Me-Nail doesn't have names for each design, i decided to give them names *LOL* but i am not very creative so the names would be very simple hahaha. I'm calling this one Flashy Butterfly :D

You get 15 tattoos in one sheet for Flashy Butterfly (or even 17 if you count the chain necklace individually *LOL*)

The very simple instruction (please ignore the bad English, they probably just Google translate the whole thing *LOL*), L said it's basically like our childhood cartoon temporary tattoos that we got from candies, etc, so... easy peasy hahaha

Like they stated, it's important to keep your skin clean, dry and oil free so make sure to not put on any body lotion before applying these tattoo or it won't attach itself perfectly on your skin. I tried to put one on Baby Boy and forgot that he's always slathered in lotions to keep his skin baby-soft, and sure enough-the tattoo's completely ruined and a total failure zzz.

Cut the tattoo as close to the design as possible, this is because the clear part of the tattoo would also transfers to your skin, although it's transparent and not very visible-if you cut it very un-neatly or leave a huge part uncut, it'd be quite visible and weird!

Remove the clear plastic cover

Place the tattoo face down on the desired spot

Soak the back of the tattoo (preferably with a wet towel) for a few seconds, my suggestion is you should keep it on and dab on it until the paper start disengaging itself from your skin

Ta-dahhh!

Let's see how the other designs look on my skin

Pretty! I did notice that smaller, slimmer parts of the designs are the hardest to transfer, most of the time resulting on it not transferring at all! Look at the missing lower part of the butterfly on the left

I love how it looks so much like a regular bracelet hehe

Wore the three tats combo for this Fairy Kei look

I love this pic hahahaha, #actemo much?

L said that the flash tattoos should last for around 4 days (do not scrub it, of course! But you may do your daily activities as usual), but i believe that every skin would have different reactions to flash tattoos and how long they'd last, as well as the body parts where you put the flash tattoos on. I have a normal, very hydrated skin and in smoother parts (leg, inner part of my hand) the tattoos actually start to fade as fast as two days only, but on the upper side of my hand the tattoos stay for almost five days.

Theory-wise, i'd say that normal, hydrated skin has their natural oils that strip the flash tattoo faster than on dry skin (like L's) that has no extra oil, therefore making the tattoo stays on longer.

Another proof that different skin type would determine different staying power of these tattoos? I find the silver ones stay on longer than the gold ones, while L the total opposite!

Removal's easy peasy too :

Day 5, the silver butterfly's very faded while the gold flower's almost totally gone

While the moon bracelet's still somewhat intact

I used whatever oil's available in my room, which happens to be Ovale's Olive Oil and a piece of cotton pad. Pour a bit of the olive oil on the cotton pad and swipe it gently on the remains of the tattoo

It's gone in no time! Yes, there are a few glitters left but it'd be completely gone by your next shower

Now let's see how the other designs from the Flashy Butterfly looks :

My favorite : the double gold chain necklace, and yes you can wear them individually

Love infinity, tried to put on the silver one of Baby Boy to get couple flash tattoo but failed miserably because of his body lotion *LOL*

You can be creative with the placements so that you'd end up with different designs with the same style everytime

Like i said, i had troubles with thinner, slimmer designs and the edges of the bird's wings were actually cut off but it was not apparent

Placement of flash tattoos also determined the staying power, i found that the one i put on my leg to flake off the fastest (the next day), probably because i rub my feet on my bed too much without realizing it?

More cam-whoring pictures, because the flash tattoos are so pretty, it's a shame not to take endless pictures of them, right?? Btw, there's only one design of the Flashy Butterfly that i didn't get to use, that's the silver dove (actually i was saving it for Baby Boy because it's one of the least girly ones that he can use).

I was having a bad insomniac attack one night and spent dawn sitting like a ghost in the corner of my darkened room (near the little light we leave on every night because pitch darkness scares me and Baby Boy) cutting the flash tattoos to wear the next day (eh, actually in the afternoon of the same day). I guess the Sweet Dream i downed worked faster than i expected because i really thought i've stored all of the tattoos back inside the sleeves when in fact i actually left some laying around. Pretty sure one of my maid threw it away the next morning and i was really really annoyed. You can't do that to an OCD, i needed to show you every single design T.T...

Verdict? I'm in love with flash tattoos! I have forsaken my pile of accessories these past couple of weeks in favor of these cooler-than-thou flash tattoos and i believe i will continue to do so for a while because i still have 9 sheets left!

Here are the other 9 designs that you can also get from Me-Nail (i won't be reviewing them individually because they're all essentially the same item with different designs but i will be sure to feature them in my outfit posts!)

The Fun Tiki

Featherette

Flashy Quotes

Sea Life

Gypsi Juju

Aboriginal

Flashy Madame

Flashy Leafy

Beach Life

I personally did not experience any side effects from using these flash tattoo, but those of you who have sensitive skin or are allergic to adhesive should avoid using these tattoos!

IDR 55.000 might seems a bit much for a sheet of paper (with temporary tattoos on them, of course! Haha), but considering that you can wear one sheet for more than a month even if you use more than one design each time, i think it's quite cheap actually! Take this from Mrs. Kiasu herself so you can bet that i counted the value of each usage *LOL.

I think these funky temporary tattoos are really making a comeback with a bang, i also notice the other types like the uber cute, colorful pop art ones and 3 D looking ones making rounds at IGs! I hope Me-Nail might stock on those other types and let me try them as well? Hahaha...

What do you think of flash tattoos? Is it something you'd get for yourself?
