Little Paper Crane Fly Away...

Hi guys..

Surprise! I didn't wait until the very last day of the month to post *LOL*.

I don't really go out much in 2020 ofc, we're still fighting against the darn pandemic and all - but once in a while i do meet up with my friends and i decided to dress up whenever i do because otherwise i am going to grow into my home uniform for sure. I need to be reminded how to dress up and and how good i feel when i wear nice clothes!

So here's a new fashion related post for you ^^, maybe it can be a reference to all mid sized girls out there (who wears M-L, who is not skinny enough for the "beauty standard" but not quite plus sized either. We're so often cast aside and forgotten, aren't we? LOL).

Mid sized girls too, can rock everthing. Screw rules and those tips on what to or not to wear to look slimmer. I wear colors, loud colors, pastel colors, pattern, stripes and whatever i want to wear and i make sure look damn good on them. So are you!

Admittedly, i am not really a maxi cut kind of person. I LOVE midi cuts, but my issue with maxi cuts is because although i am very very girly and quite feminine (definitely not a tomboy in any sense), i am not graceful. At all. Like, really. I trip over myself all the time, fall down and hurt myself badly for no reason at all so maxi cuts.. It just spells disaster for this clumsy lady haha. I still wear them from time to time, but i really have to be extra careful.

And i don't know if you can tell, but the color scheme is also not really something i would usually go for. I mean, i have no problem wearing it, like i said - i think i can rock any color fine. It's just not exactly my cup of tea

The only reason that i have this dress? My sister passed it to me *LOL*. My sister is quite petite (probably 8 cm shorter than me) so i have no idea why she would even buy something like this, and then she went on a diet (this whole family has a problem of yoyo dieting, apparently) and the dress (brand new and all) then got too big for her (i mean.. Look at how the dress fits me who is at least 2 sizes bigger than her and a whole load taller. It almost sweep the floor for me! And it fits loosely on me too!) so she gave it to me. It's a perfectly nice dress, i wouldn't say no to it!

Well, i know it's autumn already but in this country of endless summer, i would melt to puddle if you ask me to wear autumn clothes *LOL*. Imma stick to light and summery clothing until the weather cools down a little and then maybe.. Just maybe, i would be able to wear something thicker without getting a heatstroke.

Paired it with this vintage looking hard case bag. I got it as a present from L many years ago but never gotten around to wear it *LOL*. It's a recurring theme with me, i have way too many things. But i cut back a lot this year and it's a great thing as i finally have time to use what i have instead of letting them rot and collect dust in my room/walk in closet. Btw, i'll let you in on a little secret, L actually got me two of these bags, they look almost identical so i don't understand why she gave me two for, i passed the other one to one of BFFs because i see no sense in keeping both. Don't tell L.

Necklace from Usupso. I'm super cheap when it comes to costume jewelry nowadays, so i only got this (well, hunny got it for me) when it was on a 70% off or something haha. Btw if you're distracted by my nails, my apologies. They are fake and it was the first time i learnt to stuck them on, plus according to experts, the sizing is a bit off so they cannot look exactly natural on haha.

Every piece of item in this look has a back story. You know i am a story teller so i gotta tell you everything! The pair of giant golden hair clips are brand new too, i bought it online when one of the BFC member spread the "shopping virus" of a fashion accessories crazy sale at Shopee. They look tiny on the picture used by the online shop and i was stunned when they arrived, 5x bigger than i anticipated. But i think they still look pretty, thankfully. Oh and yea, my highlighter really was popping that day huh

BUT! The star of this look of which i am creating the whole outfit together for is actually...

It's the little paper crane earrings!

This is Orizuru (authentic Japanese brand) Origami Crane Earring, made from Yuzen-dyed Japanese paper that is only 4cm long (!!!) and carefully folded. Yes, it's hand woven and there are no 2 items with the same design so you can say that each pair can only be owned by one person in the world. How much more special can that be? In Japanese traditional culture, origami cranes are believed to be "symbols of peace" so these earrings also a symbol of a lucky item that is able to "draw good luck and makes your wish come true". I don't know about you but honestly i am a sucker for symbolism and everything that said to bring good luck or fortune my way, i will be sold hahaha.

Anyway, you do not have to go to Japan (or specifically Hiroshima, where these type of crane earrings are most famous from) if you want a pair of your own or to give to someone special as you can purchase them online from Tocoo Mall . There are a lot of other Japanese products available other than the earring that you can get from Tocoo Mall and you can even get 10% using code NB2AH - only until the end of November 2020!

Now shall we marvel at the craftmanship of this earrings? Btw it is also made from surgical stainless steel so those of you who have sensitivities to metals can also wear them as they are allergy free!

To be honest with you, i always admired these paper crane earrings whenever i was in Japan and always wanted one so... You can say i am pretty stoked that i have a pair now

I cannot even make a normal sized paper crane so a tiny one like this really stun me haha

Last none before we move on. Oh yeah, for those of you who keeps on saying i have no pores, that's not true at all.. I have pretty large pores, especially on my left cheeks and my nose, there are some small scars too but you do have to be extremely close to my face to see them haha, this is a very very zoomed in pic indeed :))

It's Le Cafe Gourmand, the West branch haha. Loads of Instagenic spots at the outdoor area, just make sure you come when the sun is not too strong already

They are pretty content creator friendly, meaning they won't bother you taking endless pics and also if you take endorsement pics. Ofc you have to order okay, it's crazy how some people thinks it's okay to take pics in cafes/restaurants without ordering, where's the sense in that??? Also, please don't order the French Fries. It's the size of a side dish at a main dish price OMG

Shopping Experience : Batik Kammi (SPONSORED)

Finally, a blog post at the somewhat beginning of the month instead of the very last day :D!

And i am going to share with you my experience shopping with this prestigious Batik brand : Batik Kammi ^^.

Wearing Adriani Dress in Red

Batik Kammi is a modern batik brand with affordable (for a designer-esque type of batik, ofc) price tag but high quality materials and designs. Batik Kammi strive to provide the needs of Indonesian who wants to preserve Indonesian heritage and culture. The batik's motives are designed by batik Kammi's design team (so totally unique and definitely not mass produced) and they also only choose the best quality for their pieces as their main concern is to make sure every customer who is wearing Batik Kammi feels comfortable.

Their basic materials are 100% cotton and satin with printing process and has plenty of motives like Abimanyu, Arjuna, Boungenvile, Aster, etc.

I had the privilege to try out the shopping experience at Batik Kammi's online shop at Alleira Plaza (all the screen shoots are from their mobile web as i did the shopping with my phone, but you can visit their full website for a full shopping experience).

Batik Kammi has tops, dresses and outer for women and also batik tops for men. Other than that they also have hijab and mask as well. I will share some of their designs that caught my eyes

I absolutely adore this Boungenvile Outer Verona, it looks so chic and luxe - it's also an open type of outer so it can be worn by so many different sizes!

I also really like this Aster Blouse Nessy, it's so cute and can be paired with many style bottoms for different looks!

Their masks are also very affordable but fun, unique and chic! Some can even be matched with their tops/dresses, i always love the thought of wearing matchy-matchy outfit with my mask :))

But in the end i decided to go for this Adriani Dress in Red (also available in Black and Blue but the red one is the prettiest for me and i will get a lot more wear of the reds for special occasion than the other colors). Some of their clothings are all sized (but in relaxed/baggy style) but the more structured ones comes with sizes. I am a mid sized girl, for international brands i almost always wear M (sometimes S if the cutting is really big but very rarely i have to venture to L) but in my experiences, local cuttings run small so i always size up to L or XL. When it comes to online shopping, i tend to go for the bigger sizes as it's always easier to alter something that is too big than too small >.<. I went for XL but i think their sizing chart is pretty accurate, and L would definitely fit me better (you can't see it in the pics but IRL if you see me from the back/sides, you can clearly see that the dress is too big on me) but i do like the super loose fit of XL anyway so all's good!

I also like their male collection, so next time my hubby needs a batik top i know where to look!

Navigating the website is a breeze and a total no nonsense, i just clicked on the product that i want, add it to the cart, fill in my information and check out - simple as that! And it didn't take long at all from the time i finalized my order, received the receipt and a few days later - the packaging arrived safely at my doorstep!

Wrapped in a wrapping paper as well, i love the extra touches that makes the shopping experience all that much more special

I notice right away that the product is exactly the same as the photo, the material is very high quality and the cutting is super neat!

I got plenty of compliments wearing this dress, even from my mom who is usually doesn't like what i wear :)), she kept on saying how pretty the dress is. I told her she could wear it when she can go out again and attend functions (as for now we are having her and my dad in house ground due to pandemic haha)

Honestly, i think the dress is even prettier in real life than in the pictures in the website. The real colors is so much more expensive looking and the way it falls when you wear it is very complimentary to my body shape. The material is also very comfortable, it didn't feel coarse or scratchy at all, and it's also not hot at all, just the perfect material to wear in our hot and humid climate. I also especially love the cheong sam inspired collar, makes the dress even prettier!

The dress itself is pretty enough to wear on its own if you like a loose fitting, relaxed silhouette, as i love to mix and match and i see endless possibility to style this top, let me share with you some other ways you can wear this dress.

For a more fitted, slimmer look, you can pair it with a wide belt that synch at the wait

The safest color to pair a bright red dress like this is definitely black

Paired the dress with a black and gold stretch obi belt, black and gold bag and black jelly flats for a simple but sophisticated look that would take you from a meeting to a lunchie event without skipping a beat

I also love to style dresses like this as tops so you can get even more wear out of them ^^. And ofc my fave type of skirt that i like to pair them with is tutu style skirts (even though you can use other type of skirts too as long as they are longer than the dress).

So i was thinking basic and wanted to pair the dress with a black tutu skirt, but then i found this navy blue tutu and it also matches nicely with the red of the dress without being too basic

There are so many other ways i can think of to style this dress as it is pretty versatile so i am super happy and confident that i am going to get a lot of wear out of it!

Thai Haul 2019

Hey guys!!!

When was the last time i did a haul post... who can remember, it was eons ago *LOL*. I stopped doing haul posts because i was embarassed at how much i shopped, but then not long after i stopped being such a crazy shopaholic anyway coz i started receiving PR packages regularly and my collection's really got super ridiculous without me actually spending money anymore >.< (about the same time when i became super kiasu and stingy *LOL*).

I also used to buy stuffs to an alarmingly scary amount on each trip i went to (who remembers my epic Singapore/Malaysia/South Korea hauls haha) and nowadays i hardly buy anything in my trips (esp beauty products, i really very very rarely shop for them now) - until Olin and i went to Thailand last month. I bought the most item in one trip in a long long while (and the number's not bad at all compared to my past trips, so... i'm still patting myself on the back anyway :p

But anyway, enough ramblings, it's time to show ~~off~~ you what i bought in Thailand!

Here's everything that i bought (minus the clothes. I bought around a dozen of clothing items >.<. I never liked to show my clothing hauls, i feel like if you'd see them already then it wouldn't be new anymore when i actually wear them for the first time. Weird? Hey, i never claimed to be normal okay...) this time round :

Here's me practicing self control. Because ugh, we didn't buy a lot of luggage allowance (we only shared a 20 kg allowance between the two of us) and also because i am a cashless person, didn't bring a lot of cash hoping i can just use my card but turned out that most cheaper shopping places don't accept cards and even at malls the minimum spending to use card is a bit ridiculous (you can only use card in 7-11 and Watsons if you spend 300 Baht, and even at Jelly Bunny they asked for 500 Baht! That is ridiculously high!)

First of all : accessories! I think it's not secret that Bangkok is the heaven for quirky earring lovers! They have the most ridiculous earrings ever (like toto, clothes pin, even rubber bands!) and i'm all for that! I went a little ga ga and couldn't stop buying :

Hey, i actually didn't buy as many as i though it did :p. I also bought some hair acessories :

Couldn't resist the ducks (available at Stingy Bunny, btw) and i die die also want one of the bottle ones. Since my fave drink is water : mineral water hair clip that is!

Then, totally out of character - i didn't buy any shoes (i try to not buy shoes anymore coz i used to love to buy shoes, pretty and cute ones that are not very comfy... Then i never wear them. Most of them are worn once and when i try to wear them again, they crumble... Be it super cheap ones of the rather pricey ones, so i decided to buy less shoes unless all are crumbling then i can buy more T.T) but i bought THREE sandals!

I don't really buy sandals and currently i only use one furry slip on from VNC that i bought in Malaysia last year, it's already so fugly that i actually need a new one :))

Got this one at Chatuchak market because i was influenced by Xia Xue and Sophie, i die die also must buy one - turned out you can find cheaper ones at Ratchada night market *LOL*. If you want to shop for pretty clothes and stuffs like this pom pom sandals, i would suggest you to check out Ratchada market coz it's not as crazy big as Cathuchak (it's too big, stressful and overwhelming for me haha), much easier to navigate, the clothes arguably not as much but a lot cuter (or at least, better suited to my taste) - and actually cheaper (coz Chatuchak is very famous for tourists so naturally the prices are higher than other markets). Btw, this sandal's not comfy at all :))) just super cute. Oh, it;s customizable btw.

One of my fave brands : Jelly Bunny!!! I really wanted a new slip on (my fave kind of sandals, apparently) and these are on 60% off (it's less than 200k rupiahs) so i snagged this FTL. I also fell in love with loads of their bags but as usual, when there are too many choices in ended up not buying any *LOL*. Jelly Bunny bags are more expensive than their footwear and i find it hard to justify getting them... I already have so many bags so unless i really like it (or it's super cheap), then u wouldn't buy them anymore *self control FTW*

And my favorite : Fila Moomin!!!!! I am currently obsessed with FILA and i've been dreaming about their Disruptor Pastel Rainbow that looks super lolita, but when i learned that Fila's actual price in the US is almost 3x the price in Indonesia, i just couldn't do it. It's much cheaper in Thailand (still super overpriced tho) but it's just so hard to find a standalone FILA store (because we didn't spend much time at malls at all) so in the end i also couldn't buy it in Bangkok zzzzz. Still, i am pretty happy i got this Moomin edition sandals, sooo kawaii!

Immortalizing it before i ruin it by wearing it hahaha. Btw it was pretty cheap! Less than 400k (790 Baht if i remember correctly)

Andddd i only buy ONE bag (so proud of meself)

How can i resist this beauty... You know Baht throws us off sometime into thinking that they are so much more expensive that they actually are *LOL*, i was pretty shocked when we realized that this bag is actually less than IDR 170k converted (and this already including the 2.5% tax because we insisted on using credit card), to think that i spent so much time thinking whether or not i should get it >.<

Now onto the beauty products!

Do you know that Thais took their armpit problems seriously? Neither did i, but they have so many different products for armpits, it's impressive! Nowadays i only buy deodorants in Thai WTF, so i stock up enough to at least next time i go there *LOLOLOL*.

I got Vaseline Dry Serum (our Thai friend, Bo, was like "You don't have Vaseline in Indonesia??? Ofc we have haha, but no armpit dry serum for sure!), some deo powder that is practically from a traditional brand and Bo swears by (she said her grandma uses this brand *LOLOLOL*) and my usual fave crystal deodorant (from another brand than the one i am used to because we had problems finding that brand this time round)

Soap N Glory dry shampoo because it was on sale, Barbie setting spray coz it was also on sale (it was 65 Baht or something WTH, Thais don't play play with discounts) and Unicorn Sweet Pinky perfume from Daiso

We learned before our trip that Daiso Thailand has a unicorn edition makeups and i was super excited for them, but when we finally went into Daiso, turned out that the collection is not that cute (btw, Thai Daiso has crazy selection of makeup!!! A lot more than Daiso Japan even, or Korea) and Daiso Thai is pretty expensive (around IDR 30k per item for the base price). I mean.... I am so used to Daiso Japan (IDR 12k, baby!!!) and South Korea, the most expensive Daiso i would pay is Daiso Malaysia! So i skipped the entire Unicorn edition makeup and only get the perfume.

Speaking of makeup, i used to go to Thailand a LOT when i was younger (in my late teens to early 20s) and back then Thai seems to love fake makeups coz i saw a so many of them being sold everyday but then i guess they see the chance there : they now have LOADS of local copy paste brands! Not fake coz they have their own brands like Sivanna, NeeCara, Odbo (which is also a premium South Korean skin care brand *LOL*) - these are all legit brands okay, they are sold at big malls and Eve and Boy (Thai version of Sephora or Olive Young), they are super cheap and they copy paste famous brands' packaging and products!

The most makeup that i actually buy with my own money in a long long while...

Some lippies. The Nee Cara has a unicorn edition and they lipstick set was so cheap, even though i already have thousands of lippes at home... How can i resist? And there's a mini Meilinda lippies (again, another brand that sounds like a fake to me *LOL* but it's legit okay) that we are also giving away soon (please check our Instagram if you are interested in getting so free Thai makeups). The Nivea lip balm i only got for the cute holder ofc, i think it's a special Thai edition and they have a lot of different variants, Olin bought 3 or 4 - she is also gonna do a haul post i think so you can check her blog out as well

Blushes from Sivanna and Nee cara... Honestly Sivanna is the brand i was most interested in getting before we went to Bangkok, but when we actually arrived i was distracted by other, cheaper brands :))

Only got 2 eyeshadow palettes, i deserve another pat in the back! You can see that the Sivanna eyehadow palette is an exact copy of MAC/Etude House packaging... Taotao is a Chinese brand lah, got it because it's ridiculously cheap. Btw we planned on doing Open PO but got overwhelmed and busy shopping for ourselves so maybe next time HAHAHA

CathyDoll, Daiso and Odbo highlighter. The Odbo one is recommended by Bo (btw Bo used to work for Althea Korea so she knows her makeup okay!)

Oh i went crazy and bought tonnes of powders coz Thai powders are the best okay!!! I am usually all for Korean makeup but when it comes to powder, Thais are superios trust me! Plus the prices are ridiculous again. I never heard of the brand Sasi and Butae before so it's a stab in the dark while Carhydoll is a brand that i am used to (although i hate their system and principe so i choose not to promote their brand anymore, but i still use and buy them sometimes coz they do have some great products)

More powders from Baby Bright (it's also from Karmart like Cathydoll, so again... I don't actually want to let them appear on my blog but well... I want a thorough haul post so i must include them

I almost didn't include these two because i actually bought and use them right away while we were in Thailand because i totally forgot to bring powder *basically a sin in my book* and my eyeliner decided to totally dry out the first day we arrived! Both products i bought blindly just because i was desperate and they were cheap *LOL* but both performed beautifully so i am highly recommending these two items if you ever seen them, know that they are awesome!

The eyeliner is actually a duo (there's a crayon eyeshadow at the other end) and it's called Browit (i was so worried at first because Browit then it supposed to be brow products, no??? Nope, it's not hahaha) and it's by a famous Thai MUA, Nong Chat. It's a chubby marker tip type, i've been using brush tip for so long that i needed some getting used to this eyeliner but once i do, it's very easy and fast to use (and i can draw VERY thin line if i want even tho the tip is chubby). Very pigmented and long lasting, what more can we ask from an eyeliner? The eyeshadow's okay too, although i am not a fan of non-powder shadow so i rarely use it.

The Sheene BB powder was in a crazy promo (60 Baht, if i remember correctly) and i bought it without any expectation and it turned out to be one of the best, most beautiful face powder i've ever tried and remember - i am beauty blogger. I've tried a LOT of powders. I also love a Cathydoll powder that i tried before so yes, i believe them when they say Thai knows how to make powders! We tried so hard to look for the same powder (bought it at a makeup store in Blue Port, Hua Hin) everywhere but we couldn't find it T.T so so sad! I would've bought 5 *LOL*. It's THAT good).

Last item is this Baby Bright Aloea Vera Serum Wet Tissue because i needed a bonus product to qualify using creadit card at this Japanese store that hubby asked me to buy a stupid figurine from

Phew... Finally we've come to the end of the post! I kinda miss and enjoy doing these haul posts >.<, i guess i will do another one next time i go on a trip if i buy some more items haha.
