How y'all doin? Omricon is creating another havoc in our country after a few months of peace :(, but they said that Omricon is actually gonna be the shifter for Corona virus from a pandemic to endemic, so that's at least a hopeful news! Let's all stay strong, pray, stay safe and manifest it! We'll get through this pandemic in 2022!!! (oh and get that booster jab if you can! I just got mine today)

In the meantime, i am back cocooning at home (haven't really leave the house properly for weeks) and after being sad and feeling sorry for myself for a few days (i'm blaming hormones! Oh, and Mercury Retrogade hahaha) i am feeling much better and myself so i'm ready to play, test and review stuffs again!

And today i am back with yet another eyeshadow palette review! It's Dasique Shadow Palette ^^!

Dasique Shadow Palette in shade 01 Sugar Brownie

Lip products has always been my #1 for many years, but lately i must admit that i am more drawn to eyeshadow palettes. Maybe because we've been wearing masks for 2 years straight that while i still love and wear lipsticks whenever i go out, i do emphasize more on my eye makeups - and the fact that they are more colorful also makes it more exciting for me!

Anyway, i'm not sure if the brand Dasique is already well known or not? I personally got introduced to Dasique by Charis as usual, they are pretty much the only source of less-mainstream K-beauty brands (you know, other than the basic brands that everyone knows like Etude, Laneige, etc) for me nowadays (because physically travelling to Korea is not possible yet :(...) and i think the first product from them that i tried was their mascaras (i reviewed them on my IG) and while their mascara's nice (i love the brown one!) but they're honestly not too special (for a K-brand mascara that i do LOVE, check out my previous post), but i did fell in love with their packaging and aesthetic. Since then i've tried their eyeshadows (that we're gonna delve into today) and their lipsticks (which i also plan to review in depth next) and i have to tell you first that my ultimate fave's the eyeshadow palette!

Comes in a pale pink outer box

They actually name all of the shades, pretty rare for a K-Brand!

In true blue Dasique style, while the outer design's elegantly plain, once you open it you'd get a pretty floral surprise inside

The Shadow Palette is available in 9 shades, and if i'm being completely honest with you - 01 Sugar Brownie is definitely not my first pick. Maybe not even 2nd or 3rd LOL, while i love and appreciate warm neutral shades - i honestly thought that the shades in Sugar Brownie are more in the darker side and i wouldn't get a lot of use out of them. WRONG! I ended up using it nonstop ever since :))), it's actually very wearable!

OFC, the shimmers are to die for... They are the ones that makes me fell madly in love like only the prettiest shimmer shadows can

Buttery smooth, with normal amount of fall off. Shimmer shades works best when applied with fingers. Blends like a dream, extra effort not needed LOL. Pigmentation is actually very good especially compared to most Korean eyeshadows

Comes in 9 shades in each palette with 4 types of finish

All 9 shades are highly wearable and easy to mix and match with each other for different effects so this palette can take me everywhere, from daily chores to a party/formal events!

And here are some photos of me wearing the eyeshadows, and these are only the ones that i bothered to snap pictures of because like i said, i wear it a LOT. I just tend to reach for it whenever i want to go out, especially if it's a casual kind of day or when i'm pressed for time as this palette is the type that can make your eyes sparkle beautifully with very minimal effort and time. I personally think that with Korean shimmers, you can just apply one shade, be done with it, AND still look cute! That's how easy it is, so it's definitely newbie-proof!

Admittedly you cannot create vastly different looks with this palette (like, all the looks would be somewhat similar and from the same color tone, just maybe more/less intense), but when you purchase this type of color-curated shades then i'm guessing then that is not what you are expecting anyway, right?

I would highly recommend this palette (specifically the 01 Sugar Brownie) if you're looking for a neutral, warm toned eyeshadow palette with insanely beautiful shimmer shades (i seriously cannot get over the shimmers!) that you can wear for many different occasion. Whether you're the type that just want to have a minimal collection of makeup you can wear everyday or if you're a seasoned beauty junkie like me, i think you're gonna love this palette! I especially love it for everyday, quick use and for traveling purposes as the palette is compact and ideal to travel with and the shades are neutral (the type that would work for most skin tones) and won't clash with any outfit!

I personally have my eyes on the other variants like 02 Rose Petal and 04 Pastel Dream, and they also have another eyeshadow palette called Flower Book which aesthetic is just... to die for *LOL*.

Eye Stories 27 : Dear Me Beauty X Yupi Baby Bear Eyeshadow Palette

HI GUYS!!!

It finally happened. After stubbornly trying to keep posting at least once a month, i totally abandoned this blog for a whole 2 months LOL. But i'm breaking the streak today - i have a very fun review for you : a special edition eyesbadow palette from a local Indonesian beauty brand Dear Me Beauty with a legendary gummy brand Yupi : it's Dear Me Beauty X Yupi Baby Bear Eyeshadow Palette!

I was lucky enough to be involved with the launch of this special collab earlier this month (i am also now part of #DearMeSquad, yay!) so i was also one of the firsts to receive the PR package before the launch. I think i don't even need to explain how the whole thing matches my aesthetic (this aging Fairy Kei wannabe LOL) and therefore how excited i was for this collab - i've decided to record it in detail on my blog because after being in the industry for 8-9 years, it's really hard for launches to impress and excite me anymore *LOL* so when something does, i'm all for it!

I do think Indonesian beauty brands collabs are like H n M's, they can be totally out of the box (you know Dear Me collabed with Sasa the MSG before and Upmost Beaute collabed with Tolak Angin *LOL*) and quirky but most of them are very safe and meh for me, not this one though... It's in another league altogether.

FYI, i've never tried any Dear Me products before, i've heard of them before ofc- so imagine how exciting it is that their first product that i tried brings me so much joy *LOL*

I even told my hunny "Look how cute it issssss" and he was like "is it makeup?"

Well this one clearly is haha

Saw the card before the eyeshadow and i shrieked even more because now i know the shape of the palette is THAT adorable!

To be completely, absolutely honest? A bit disappointed because i didn't see any neon or super bright colors to represent the gummies! The color selection's wider and daring than most local eyeshadows but still, i wished they'd at least put a row of super bright, colorful neons!

Btw guysss, it's kids friendly too! So if you have a daughter/niece/little sisters who are still little but they love makeup (like most little girls tend to be), you can buy one for them/let them play with yours (i'd be too conscious that they'd break it tho so i'd most probably buy one for her if it was me haha)

10/10 for packaging for me! Most of the other Indonesian beauty brands collabs - the eyeshadow palette's just the regular rectangular so this holographic bear shaped palette is a real breakthrough for the local industry in my opinion!

Dominated with the it color lilac, pink and the rest are more neutral and darker than i expected to come out from such a youthful looking palette tho. I appreciate that they actually bother to name the shades!

I didn't even realized this for the longest time but it actually comes with a mirror on the lid!

First of all i just want to say that their glitter and shimmer shades are TO DIE FOR. Definitely on par with Korean/international shimmer shadows that i like and we are spoilt with the glitter shade selection as well in this palette. As for the mattes, they are very pigmented as well - all of the swatches above are done lightly. I never had to dig too hard or go over many times, even for the light shades. Pale shades like Gigly Ber and Cute Bear are more pigmented than i expected. Yes, there are fall out esp from the matte shades (and esp when you use fluffy brushes), but i expect that from such pigmented shadows - and they mostly just dustying the pan and not my face.

The slightly negatives? i noticed for the pale matte shades, they are not easy to layer with. Like, they show up boldly when you apply them all over your lid, but when you want to layer a bolder shade on top suddenly the pale shade would disappear and leave a bald patch. I do wonder if this can be fixed by using primer/base so the pale shade have something to hold on to instead of being swiped away by the brush. Also this problem only occurs in some shades (i'd say it's mainly Cute Bear) and overall that's the only complain i have *LOL*.

Ever since i received the eyeshadow palette, i used it constantly and created plenty of different looks and style - that's how versatile it is! Let me show you the looks i did with them (and i use NO base/primer in any of the looks) :

Sunset look

Sultry/formal look

Seriously, who would guess that such sultry eye makeup comes from a palette that's shaped like a bear *LOL*

And ofc, this look that i created for the launch!

I decided to go with all the lilacs, purples and pinks as they are the most "gummy" looking shades from the palette!

And those acrylic gummy bears people were terrorizing me about when they thought i stick real gummies to my face (people do that and i don't see problem with that okay, i just don't wanna do it!)

Nah here you can see what i am talking about. I originally applied Cute Bear all over my lid as a base and as soon as i blend in darker shades to build the look, the base color just wiped out! I was left with a little blank patch there and it couldn't be filled back in as Cute Bear only shows when applied with fingers and i didn't want to risk ruining the blend if i went in with my fingers to fill in the blank! Note to self : try Cute Bear with a primer next.

Reddish, peachy look

The reds and peaches in this palette are super pretty as well!

It can even be worn for thematic looks. I used it for BFC's latest collab : Geisha!

I actually only use 2 shades for this eye look, i mainly just wanted to test out Ambitious Bear (the red shade) and it didn't disappoint!

It can also be used for very natural, everyday kind of makeup

I seriously cannot stop gushing about the glitters okay...

And that's only 6 out of the endless possibilities you can create with this super versatile eyeshadow palette okay!

Retail for IDR 249,000 (it's currently on a 25% off discount at Sociolla!!! only IDR 186,750 go go go!) it's slightly on the pricey side if you compared it with most of local eyeshadow palettes, but keep in mind it has 25 shades (although each of the eyeshadow size is smaller), the concept is to die for (and we should really support local products okay, they are soooo good now i'm amazed at the pace they are going in the past few years! Just a few years ago i probably wouldn't believe you if you tell me how far local beauty industry has come in some short years! People used to look at local beauty brands with only one eye and there are only a handful of brands around when i started this journey 9 years ago), the quality is pretty awesome as well i'd say it's definitely worth the price - especially when it's under 200k like now!

Overall, i obviously LOVE this collab and in full support for Dear Me Beauty - hope you enjoy my long winded review. I miss being able to post 50 photos of a product and my face and writing without character limits - that's why i'm back to the blog. Let's hope the 2 months absent will not be repeated haha.
